A cable and pulley weightlifting apparatus for preventing injury to a weightlifter that includes a pair of bases, a pair of vertical tubular posts, a pair of upper support brackets, a pair of cables, a pair of counterweights, and safety detent pins. Each vertical tubular post has an upper support bracket attached at the upper end and the lower end is attached to the respective pair of bases. Each cable with a counterweight attached to one end is inserted into the channels of the respective vertical tubular posts. The other cable ends with snap hook connectors attached are inserted into the upper support brackets and connected to a dumbbell cable harness or a barbell. The vertical tubular posts include apertures to receive safety detent pins for the weightbearing bar to be suspended at any desired elevation and providing safety to the user not available with other free weight systems.

Cable and pulley weightlifting system apparatus

A weightlifting apparatus for suspending weightlifting bars at a pre-selected height for the performance of a selected exercise. After the user completes the exercise the weightbearing bar remains suspended at the pre-selected height and allows the user to repeat the exercise by once again lifting the weightbearing bar. A series of holes in the vertical uprights provide a range of adjustment for setting slider assemblies to a pre-selected height. Cable support systems are used to suspend the weightbearing bar at a pre-selected height by attaching one of their ends to connectors attached to the weightbearing bar and their other ends are passed over a pulley system and then are attached to stop weights or slider assemblies. This support system will allow unrestricted movement of the weightbearing bar in any direction as in standard free weight systems and yet provide safety to the user not available with standard free weight systems.

Cable suspended dumbell and barbell weightlifting apparatus

A pulleyless weightlifting apparatus including a pair of bases, a pair of counterweights, a pair of stop pins, a pair of cables and a pair of vertical tubular posts. Each vertical tubular post is bent into a 'U' shape at its upper end and its lower end is attached to the respective upper ends of the pair of bases. Each of the counterweights are connected to one end of the respective pair of cables and are then inserted into the channels of the respective vertical tubular posts. The opposite cable ends are attached to connectors which are connected to a dumbbell cable harness or attachments on a barbell. The vertical tubular posts include a series of apertures to receive stop pins for providing a range of height adjustment for the counterweights which allow the weightbearing bar to be suspended at any desired elevated position. The upper 'U' shape ends of the vertical tubular posts allow the cables to be moved in an ascending and descending direction without the use of pulleys. This weightlifting apparatus allows unrestricted movement of a weightbearing bar and provides safety to the user not available with other free weight systems.

Pulleyless weightlifting apparatus

A multi-exercise free weight exercise apparatus for preventing injury to a weight lifter from a weight bearing bar and weights thereon in the event the weight lifter is unable to complete another repetition of the exercise due to any circumstance. The weightlifting apparatus consists of a framework having a pair of bases, pair of upright support members, pair of guide sleeve assemblies, and pairs of parallel vertical guide track support members with a plurality of apertures. The guide sleeve assemblies each have oversized holes through the centers of their sides for inserting a weight bearing bar and also pairs of oversized holes located near each end of their top and bottom for insertion of the pairs of vertical guide track support members. To perform a particular exercise a pair of safety stop keys are inserted into the apertures of the vertical guide track support members, at a predetermined height below the guide sleeve assemblies, in order to prevent downward movement of the guide sleeve assemblies and weight bar beyond this height thereby preventing injury to the weight lifter. During any upward or downward movement the weight bar can be rotated in order to reduce stress on the weight lifter' s wrist, elbow and shoulder joints resulting from the defined vertical track created by the vertical guide track support members. This apparatus also allows the use of weight bearing bars of different diameters and the use of a detachable sleeve over the weight bar for increasing grip size.
