A bearing plate and a nut and bolt arrangement for use as a rib or roof support for coal mines where the extracted coal is used for powder coal and has a specific gravity in the range of 1.5-1.9, preferably 1.7. The bearing plate has an outer reinforced area surrounding an inner reinforced area. The outer reinforced area has one or more endless rib members and the inner reinforced area has a plurality of legs, wherein the legs are spaced from one another and the first end of each leg encircles a bolthole in a center of the bearing plate to receive the bolt of the nut and bolt assembly. The bearing plate and the nut and bolt assembly are made of fiberglass reinforced plastic.

A mine prop includes a first pipe having a first end and a second end, a second pipe having a first end and a second end, and a yield member secured to the second pipe. The second pipe is slidably received in the first pipe. The yield member is configured to yield before the first and second pipes when the mine prop is placed under a predetermined load.

A method is disclosed for packaging a curable resin composition and a catalyst composition that react with each other when mixed, comprising providing a partitioned tube for receiving the resin composition and the curing agent in separate compartments; delivering a stream of a resin composition into one compartment of the tube; delivering a stream of a curing agent in the other compartment of the tube; advancing the partitioned tube and constricting and sealing the partitioned tube at spaced apart intervals and severing the sealed tube to produce a package partitioning the resin composition from the catalyst composition. Solid particulate is continuously added into the stream of at least one of the catalyst composition and the resin composition and mixing the solid particulate and stream to produce a mixed composition; and the relative amount of solid particulate in the mixed composition is controlled by continuously determining the mass of solid particulate added to the mass of the stream.

Resin cartridge production system

A cable bolt includes a cable having a first end and a second end, and a barrel and wedge assembly attached to the cable at a position adjacent to the first end of the cable. The barrel and wedge assembly has a first end and a second end. The cable bolt also includes a nut positioned adjacent to the first end of the barrel and wedge assembly and defines a sealed interface therebetween. The nut defines a passageway in fluid communication with the cable.

Fully grouted cable bolt

An apparatus for retensioning a loose roof plate held by a roof bolt, includes a main spacer, a washer, and a nut. The main spacer occupies a space between a head of the roof bolt and the loose roof plate, and the main spacer has a threaded circumferential outer surface and a radially extending slot for inserting a shaft of the roof bolt therein. The washer occupies a space between the main spacer and the loose roof plate, and the washer has a radially extending slot for inserting the shaft of the roof bolt therein. The nut has a threaded hole for passing the head of the roof bolt therethrough, for threading onto the threaded spacer and for tightening onto the threaded spacer until the roof plate is firmly pressed against the roof.

Apparatus and method for re-tensioning a loose roof plate in an underground mine

A mine roof bolt includes an elongated rod and a polymer coating layer. The elongated rod has a first end and a second end with a protruding portion extending radially outward from the elongated rod. The polymer coating layer covers at least a portion of the elongated rod between the first and second ends. The elongated rod is movable relative to the polymer coating layer in an axial direction. The elongated rod has a first position where the elongated rod has a predetermined axial position relative to the polymer coating layer and a second position where the elongated rod has a displaced axial position relative to the first position.

Yielding bolt and assembly

A cable bolt comprising a tension member having a first end and a second end. A rotatable collar is positioned on the tension member and is rotatable relative to the tension member. An elongate sheath, having a first end and a second end, is disposed over at least a portion of the tension member and secured to the rotatable collar. A method of securing an anchor in a structure is also disclosed.

Sheathed cable

A cable bolt button comprising a continuous sidewall having a first end, a second end and an end portion attached to the first end of the sidewall, forming an inner cavity. The cable bolt button forms an interference fit between the sidewall of the cable bolt button and a cable bolt when the button is placed over the distal end of the cable bolt. The cable bolt button may also include a plurality of protrusions extending outwardly from the end portion away from the inner cavity and/or at least one recess. The protrusions may be separate features of the end portion or the first end of the sidewall may have a non-linear profile with the periphery of the end portion following the profile of the sidewall to form the protrusions and recesses. The end portion may also comprise a plurality of intersecting surfaces further shaping the protrusions and recesses.

Plastic cable bolt button

A mine roof support includes a substantially dome-shaped plate including a curved portion having a first side and a second side. The mine roof support includes a drive end such as a barrel and wedge assembly, a nut or a forged head. The first side of the plate is adapted to mate with a recess defined in a mine roof. A top portion of the drive head may be contoured to substantially match the contour of the second side of the plate. A drill bit tool used to create the recess includes a first drill bit situated at one end of the drill bit tool and a second drill bit situated near an opposite end of the drill bit tool, wherein the drill bit tool is adapted to drill a bore hole and the recess. A method for supporting the mine roof utilizes the mine roof support.

System and method for mine roof counter bore and cable bolt head securement therein

A truss shoe for a roof support system includes a bolt receiving section, an intermediate section, and a housing having a threaded rod engaging section. The threaded rod engaging section has a passageway having a first open end spaced from, and in facing relationship to, the bolt receiving section and an opposite second end. The passageway has a threaded portion extending from the first end of the passageway toward the second end. A stop member is positioned spaced from the first open end of the passageway. With this arrangement, the end of the threaded rod passes through the space between the first open end of the passageway and the stop member into engagement with the stop member, whereby all of the threads of the threaded portion of the passageway are in engagement with the threads of the threaded bar.

Provided is a system and method for producing resin cartridges that can be used in mine roof bolt applications. The system and method can be used to produce resin cartridges that contain a first portion that includes a resin and a catalyst that cure at a first speed when mixed together and a second portion that includes a resin and a catalyst that cure at a second speed when mixed together. The system can include a base material supply source, a plurality of branch lines, at least one altering material supply line in fluid communication with at least one branch line, a valve arrangement, a product line, and a packaging machine.

A splice tube includes a body, first and second wedge assemblies, first and second plugs, and a securing member that secures at least one of the first and second plugs to the body. The body defines first and second passageways that extend through the body. Each passageway of the body has a first end and a second end. The first and second wedge assemblies each have a passageway. At least a portion of the first and second wedge assemblies are positioned within the first and second passageways, respectively. The first and second plugs are at least partially positioned within the passageway of the first and second wedge assemblies, respectively.

System and method for producing resin cartridges

The gel time of a grouting system may be controlled by providing a resin component separated by a catalyst component, where a carbon component is included in the catalyst component. The catalyst component may include an inhibitor such as a phenolic compound, and/or the resin component may include a promoter such as an aniline compound.
