A high-speed light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system includes one or more arrays of transmitting laser diodes (TLD) fixed to a mobile platform; multiple such arrays may be arranged around the mobile platform instead of a single array rotating at high speeds. Each TLD of the array transmits, in sequence, a light pulse at a transmit time to illuminate a particular azimuth and elevation. One or more receiving photodiodes (RPD) are fixed to the mobile platform and configured to receive the reflected returns of the transmitted laser pulses. Signal processors allow the LIDAR system to 'see' at high resolution by determining distance and directional information and generating point clouds based on the returned pulses.

High speed sequential fixed-mount light detection and ranging (LIDAR) assembly

A multilevel security (MLS) network is disclosed. The MLS network includes untrusted nodes (UTN) capable of receiving messages en route from a source node to a destination node, each message having an unencrypted outer header, an encrypted inner header, and a data payload. UTNs route messages toward their destination as directed by the outer header. Global trusted nodes (GTN) decrypt a portion of the inner header to validate source and destination information before routing the message forward. GTNs further modify the outer header to obfuscate source and destination information from the UTNs. Local trusted nodes (LTN) serve as gateway nodes into a local network. LTNs also validate source and destination information to regulate admission to the local network. LTNs include an address manager which decrypts an additional portion of the inner header to read local address data and generates local messages for routing through the local network.

Information flow enforcement for IP domain in multilevel secure systems

A secure onboard maintenance circuit (OMC) includes a primary OMC node with a controller, a secure storage, a trusted CDS interface, and a configurable I/O interface for connecting to at least one system component. The controller is configured to receive maintenance information via the configurable I/O interface and the trusted CDS interface and is further configured to store data associated with the maintenance information in the secure storage. The OMC further includes at least one secondary OMC node with a second controller, a second trusted CDS interface, and a second configurable I/O interface for connecting to at least one other system component. The second controller is configured to receive maintenance information via the second configurable I/O interface and is further configured to transmit the maintenance information to the primary OMC node via the second trusted CDS interface.

Secure distributed onboard maintenance circuit

A platform operates in an environment with other platforms using active sensing. The platform includes an active sensing system configured to provide a point cloud associated with the environment. The point cloud is used to navigate the platform. The active sensing system includes a transmitter configured to provide pulses of electromagnetic energy in a light band or a radar band or sonic energy and a receiver configured to receive returns associated with the pulses striking one or more targets in the environment. The transmitter is configured to impose a code onto the pulses, and the receiver is configured to detect the code to determine when the pulses of light where transmitted or to determine a source of the pulses.

Pulse identification in a light detection and ranging, sonar, or radar system

A dead reckoning system for dismounted users is disclosed. The system uses a laser emitter to heat fixed points near the user. The points are ranged via LIDAR and imaged via thermal or IR imagers co-aligned with the laser emitter and LIDAR assembly (e.g., as a wearable personal system or a vehicle-based system). The system includes inertial sensors (e.g., accelerometers, gyrometers) to monitor attitude and motion trends of the system. Thermal images incorporating the heated points are captured at new user positions. The dead reckoning system includes a microcontroller for tracking distance and directional changes from one user position to the next by analyzing successive thermal images to determine changes in the position of the fixed heated points relative to the user.

Wearable dead reckoning system for GPS-denied navigation

A multilevel security fabric with address management units communicatively coupled to ports of a communication fabric and nodes of a multilevel security system are disclosed. The communication fabric facilitates communication between the nodes. An address management unit associated with a particular node extracts address maps contained in data requests associated with the particular node and regulates communication of that node any other nodes within the system across the communication fabric based on whether the extracted address maps are within an allowable address access range specified for the particular node. In the event that an extracted address map fails to fall within the allowable address access range, the address management unit may block the communication with the particular node. Accordingly, the address management unit may enforce multilevel communication across the communication fabric with high assurance.

Information flow enforcement for multilevel secure systems

Methods performed by an optoelectronic system are disclosed. A first method may be performed by a pulse data generator configured to acquire time from a clock; determine pulse data representative of a sequence of duration times and/or wavelength ranges as a function of, in part, a wavelength hopping algorithm; and determine and generate an output for controlling an operation of at least one optoelectronic system. A second method may be performed by a sensor controller configured to acquire the pulse data; and generate an output for controlling an operation of an optoelectronic system employed to produce an image viewable to a viewer. A third method may be performed by an image generator configured to acquire the pulse data; acquire digital data from an optoelectronic system; and generate image data representative of an image represented in data acquired from the optoelectronic system as a function of the pulse data.

Optoelectronics system and methods

A device for acknowledging warning indicators includes an electro-encephalograph for detecting signals in the midline occipital region of the user's brain, and a display system for displaying flashing indictors having differing flashing frequencies. The electro-encephalograph detects differing signals caused by the differing flashing frequencies whenever the user observes one of the flashing indicators, and the device thereby recognizes that the user has observed the warning indicator.

Positive acknowledgement method that information is received

A method for activating an operational mode change of a device. The method includes flashing at least one indicator, wherein each of the at least one indicator flashes at a particular initial frequency. The method also includes receiving electroencephalograph (EEG) data from an EEG device of a user. The method further includes recognizing a portion of the received EEG data to substantially match activation EEG data, wherein the activation EEG data corresponds to predicted or recorded EEG data of the user in observance of one of the at least one indicator flashing at the particular initial frequency. The method additionally includes activating an operational mode change for providing power to a display upon recognizing the portion of the received EEG data to substantially match the activation EEG data.

Hands-free electroencephalography display enablement and unlock method and apparatus

A device for controlling a pointer includes an electroencephalograph for detecting signals in the midline occipital region of the user's brain, and a display system having a pointer surrounded by flashing regions having differing flashing frequencies. The electroencephalograph detects differing signals caused by the differing flashing frequencies whenever the user is looking at one of the flashing regions having differing flashing frequencies, and the device moves the pointer in the relative direction of that region. All regions remain in the same position relative to the pointer.

Mouse movement method

The present invention is a system and a method for extending multiple independent levels of security to a plurality of input/output buses and components connected to the buses. In an exemplary embodiment, the system may include a processing unit suitable for operation in a plurality of security level. A bus controller including security control logic may be coupled to the processing unit for restricting access and flow of information between the physical memory and the plurality of buses. The bus controller may employ base address registers to allocate and map the physical memory to control which partitions of the physical memory are accessible to each of the plurality of buses and thus, a device connected to at least one of the plurality of buses.

Mechanism to enhance and enforce multiple independent levels of security in a microprocessor memory and I/O bus controller

The present invention is a system for providing Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) partitioning. The system includes a memory, a bus controller communicatively coupled to the memory via a memory bus, and a MILS controller communicatively coupled to the bus controller via a host-side bus, the MILS controller configured for monitoring and controlling system transactions. The system further includes a plurality of input/output (I/O) devices communicatively coupled to the MILS controller via a plurality of corresponding device-side buses. The system further includes a MILS separation kernel configured for mapping regions of the memory to a plurality of user partitions. Each I/O device included in the plurality of I/O devices is allocated to a partition included in the plurality of partitions and is isolated from MILS separation kernel space. The MILS separation kernel is configured for guaranteeing isolation of the partitions of the memory. The system further includes a processor connected to the bus controller via a processor front-side bus. The MILS controller is configured for extending MILS partitioning to the plurality of I/O devices.
