A process and apparatus for the on-site delivery of a gas having improved purity to from a container filled with liquid under pressure and integrated with a purifier. In the process a portion of the liquid is converted to vapor by reducing the pressure in the container and expanding the thus formed vapor through a pressure reducer generating refrigeration. The cooled vapor is warmed against incoming vapor prior to exit from the purifier.

The invention relates to a process and apparatus for delivering an ultra high purity fluid comprising at least one component to a point of use at a required pressure without mechanical pumping. In one embodiment, a high purity feed comprising at least one component in gaseous or liquid form is charged into a vessel and at least partially converted to a solid phase source. As the feed is converted to a solid phase source, additional feed may be added until the vessel is at least substantially filled with a solid phase source or slush. Once filled, the solid phase source or slush may be isochorically heated whereby the solid phase source is converted to a product at an elevated pressure.

A vessel for the storage and transportation of bulk volumes of a fluid is described herein and a method for using same. The vessel contains a plurality of dividers that apportion the internal volume into a number of sections. The dividers within the vessel aid in minimizing sloshing of the fluid contained therein during transport. In addition, the dividers optimize the fluid flow pattern thereby allowing for the continuous purge of the vessel without the need for the application of a partial or full vacuum.

The process removes from a diluted gas one or more fluorine compounds present at a first concentration in the diluted gas and concentrates the fluorine compounds. A method for white liquor oxidation in a kraft mill utilizes a two-stage selective oxidation system in which the first stage is operated to remove sulfide while the second stage is operated to oxidize a significant fraction of the remaining oxidizable sulfur compounds to sulfate. The resulting selectively oxidized white liquor products are used as alkali sources for various process steps in the mill. Optionally, white liquor can be oxidized in a single stage to convert a significant fraction of the oxidizable sulfur compounds to sulfate. A method is disclosed for controlling a desired chemical dosage to a stream of cellulosic pulp heated by the addition of steam wherein the pulp flow rate is determined indirectly by measuring the pulp temperature after steam addition and calculating the pulp flow rate by heat balance. Changes in pulp flow rate are reflected by changes in pulp temperature at known steam addition rates, and the chemical flow rate is adjusted accordingly to maintain constant chemical dosage. The method is particularly useful in controlling oxygen dosage in oxygen delignification and bleaching processes.
