A method for manufacturing electrical connector assemblies is disclosed. The electrical connector assemblies include an electrical interposer and a first electrical receptacle. The method includes positioning a fixture coupled to or including an array of the first electrical receptacles such that each of the first electrical receptacles aligns with one of the electrical interposers on an assembly with an array of the electrical interposers. The method further includes reflowing solder to mechanically and electrically couple the array of the first electrical receptacles to the array of the electrical interposers.

Methods for making electrical connectors with an electrical interposer

As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, an electrical connector such as a low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) connector is sealed to an opening in a base deck having bottom and/or side walls that define a cavity. A mechanical component is coupled to balance forces applied to opposing surfaces of the electrical connector, which can mitigate the application of high forces to connector pins and/or to the connector itself. Further, this balancing may be implemented to maintain a controlled bias force against the connector. The electrical connector may, for example, be hermetically sealed to the opening by a seal such as a gasket, epoxy or other material, which may be included in the electrical connector.

A digital Storage Element is described. A device is configured including a Storage Element for access by a user responsive to a native control code. A processing arrangement executes a control program for controlling the overall device and executing at least a portion of the native control code as part of the control program for interfacing with the Storage Element. A programming arrangement is provided separate from the device for customizing a read channel within the Storage Element. Command, user interaction and data transfer execution are discussed for mitigation of potential mechanical shock effects. Status indications relating to the Storage Element are provided including head position and mechanical shock. Calibration, test and operational monitoring procedures, for using head position status, are described. Failure configuration monitoring is provided in tracking overall performance and design considerations.

Digital device configuration and method

A data storage device including a housing including an overmold element with features for sealing the interior from ambient particulates, providing mechanical support with respect to a host, absorbing mechanical shock, and retaining a recirculation filter. The device includes a flexible electronic interconnect connectable to the host. The host includes a cavity. A resilient support extends through a movement margin between the housing and the cavity, absorbing mechanical shock. Bumpers are disposed on the housing and serve to cushion a strike when the device travels through the swing space. The resilient support extends from the corner region and is molded through an opening in the device. A sealing arrangement includes a sealing lip and bias cones and seals the interior of the device from outside particulates. A recirculation filter retention feature retains a recirculation filter. Latching features prevent two opposite portions of the housing from separating.

Digital storage element mechanical shock isolation arrangement in a host device and method

Systems and methods for transferring data between storage components in a device. During a user interaction, at least some of the data to be transferred is loaded from an electromechanical data storage arrangement into an electronic storage. The transfer of data may begin prior to an end of the user interaction and may be completed, when possible, during the user interaction. The transfer of data between the storage components may be avoided in times that precede and follow the user interactions. If additional data transfers are required, the additional data is transferred during subsequent user interactions to avoid situations where mechanical shock could cause damage to one of the storage components as the data is accessed and transferred.

A digital storage arrangement is interfaceable with a host device which defines a cavity. The digital storage arrangement includes a housing receivable in the cavity, with a movement margin between the housing and host device, while a resilient support arrangement is provided for fixed engagement with the host device and for engaging the housing, while extending through the movement margin, to support the housing within the storage device cavity and to subject the storage device to a lesser degree of mechanical shock when the host device receives a given mechanical shock. The resilient support arrangement provides support by extending from each corner region of the housing to the host device. The support arrangement is molded through an opening defined by the housing in each corner region to extend outwardly to the host device. A bumper configuration is provided integral with the support arrangement and including a sealing arrangement.
