There is disclosed an enclosure and cooling system for electronic equipment that provides forced-air cooling of multiple compartmentalized electronics assemblies while simultaneously isolating the electronics assemblies from the ambient environment, keeping the electronics assemblies free from contamination due to harmful dust, dirt, water, corrosives, and other airborne foreign matter. Embodiments include an air-conduction cooled environmentally-sealed electronics enclosure having at least first and second environmentally-sealed electronics compartments, each containing a respective electronic assembly. A common-air cooling channel containing a fin core is disposed between the first and the second electronics compartments, such that ambient air drawn from an air intake, through the common channel, and out an air exhaust removes heat generated by the electronic assemblies within the sealed compartments to an exterior of the enclosure. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Enclosure and cooling system for electronic equipment

The disclosure provides embodiments of a self-contained automatic battery charging system having a power printed circuit board (PCB) that enables inputting an alternating current (AC) power flow to the automatic battery charging system. A first switchmode converter converts an AC input power to a direct current (DC) power, thereby providing an active power factor correction. The first switchmode converter comprises an isolation transformer, which provides an electrical isolation between a primary circuitry and a secondary circuitry of the automatic battery charging system. A second switch mode converter regulates a system output voltage and limits a system output current to an electrical load. A DC output is connected to a battery, another electrical storage device, and/or a parallel-connected DC load to be powered. An optional accessory PCB electrically connects to the power PCB and provides features including a liquid crystal display (LCD), alarm output relay(s), and/or a controller area network bus (CANbus) interface. The automatic battery charging system can implement a battery-life-extension charging regime. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Systems and methods for self-contained automatic battery charging and battery-life-extension charging

Disclosed herein is an embodiment of a charger having a power printed circuit board (PCB) that enables an alternating current (AC) power to flow into a self-contained automatic battery charging system. A first switchmode converter converts an AC input power into a direct current (DC) power thereby to provide an active power factor correction to obtain an improved power factor. The first switchmode converter comprising a high frequency isolation transformer which provides an electrical isolation between a primary circuitry and a secondary circuitry of the self-contained automatic battery charging system. A second switchmode converter connected to a DC output from the first switchmode converter regulates system output voltage and limits system output current to an electrical load. The DC output is connected to a battery and/or another electrical storage device to be charged and/or to a parallel-connected DC load to be powered. An optional accessory PCB is electrically connected to the power PCB, and they are housed in a same chassis or enclosure. The optional accessory PCB provides optional features including an LCD, alarm output relay(s), and/or a controller area network bus (CANbus) interface. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Self-contained automatic battery charging systems and methods

An adaptive AC power exchanger generates stable 120 VAC 60 Hz power from variable grid input power nominally at 220 VAC and 50 Hz. The exchanger includes an AC-DC circuit stage coupled to receive the input AC current and generate a VDC output, and a DC-AC circuit stage to generate power for a load. The AC-DC stage includes an EMI filter and surge protection circuit, a 50 Hz rectifier and a power factor correction (PFC) circuit controlled by a PFC controller to yield a 400 VDC output coupled through a bulk capacitor stack to a common connection to generate a 200 VDC voltage node. The 200 VDC and 400 VDC voltages are coupled to the DC-AC circuit including a pulse width modulator; current load limiter; an LC filter having a capacitor, dual inductors and an inductor by-pass relay; and a load disconnect relay all controlled by an AC bridge controller.
