Overcoat containing titanocene photoconductors

The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to an improved overcoat for an imaging member having a substrate, a charge transport layer, and an overcoat positioned on the charge transport layer, and a process for making the same including combining a resin having a reactive group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carboxylic acid and amide groups, a melamine formaldehyde crosslinking agent, a formaldehyde scavenger, an acid catalyst, and an alcohol-soluble charge transporting molecule to form an overcoat solution, and subsequently providing the overcoat solution onto the charge transport layer to form an overcoat layer.

Process for preparing photosensitive outer layer

An electrophotographic imaging member includes a substrate, a charge generating layer, a charge transport layer, and an overcoating layer, the overcoating layer being a cured film formed from a film forming resin composition including at least a melamine compound, a polyol, and a charge transport compound, where the charge transport compound is represented by:QL-OH].where Q represents a charge transport component, L represents a divalent linkage group, and represents a number of repeating segments or groups.

Photoreceptor with overcoat layer

Disclosed is an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a protective overcoat layer including a polyol binder; a hole transport material; a curing agent; and a surface-treated tin oxide particle filler. Also disclosed is a process for forming a photoreceptor that includes providing a photoreceptor substrate; applying a charge generating layer; applying a charge transport layer; and applying a protective overcoating layer over the substrate; such that the protective overcoat layer includes a polyol binder; a hole transport material; a curing agent; and a surface-treated tin oxide particle filler. Also included is a method of forming an image, including the disclosed photoreceptor.

Photoreceptor and method of making same

The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to an improved overcoat for an imaging member having a substrate, a charge transport layer, and an overcoat positioned on the charge transport layer, and a process for making the same including combining a resin having a reactive group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carboxylic acid and amide groups, a melamine formaldehyde crosslinking agent, a crosslinkable fluoro additive, an acid catalyst, and a crosslinkable, alcohol-soluble charge transport molecule to form an overcoat solution, and subsequently providing the overcoat solution onto the charge transport layer to form an overcoat layer.

An imaging member with a unique overcoat composition adapted for forming protective, scratch-resistant overcoats is disclosed. The overcoat composition comprises a binder component that includes particular proportions of a acrylated polyol and propylene glycol. The overcoat composition also comprises a transport agent and a crosslinking agent.

Imaging member

A coating composition that contains a mixture of an alkyl alcohol, a glycol monoether, a charge transport component, a crosslinking component, and at least one hydroxyl containing polymer, and a photoconductor thereof with a supporting substrate, a photogenerating layer, and at least one charge transport layer, and an overcoating layer in contact with and contiguous to the charge transport layer, and which overcoating is comprised of a mixture of an alkyl alcohol, a glycol monoether, an acrylated polyol, a polyalkylene glycol, a crosslinking component, and a charge transport component.

Photoconductors

Provided is an imaging member such as photoreceptor comprising a substrate, a charge generation layer, a first charge transport layer, a second charge transport layer, and an optional overcoat layer. The first charge transport layer is formed from a first CTL formulation comprising an aromatic monoamine and a first polymeric film forming binder material. The second charge transport layer is formed from a second CTL formulation comprising aromatic diamine and a second polymeric film forming binder material. The imaging member has gained improved properties such as removal of anti-curl layer, desirable structural flatness, electrical properties, mechanical robustness, flexibility, longevity, and copy image qualities over extended use, among others.

Imaging member having first and second charge transport layers

A photoconductor that includes, for example, a supporting substrate, a photogenerating layer, and at least one charge transport layer comprised of at least one charge transport component, and an overcoat, and where the overcoat contains at least one of ketal. In embodiments the overcoat layer may include &#x3b1;-hydroxyketone, &#x3b1;-diketone, or mixtures thereof.

Photoconductors containing ketal overcoats

Polymer processes

An imaging member has a crosslinked overcoat layer. The overcoat layer is formed from an overcoat solution comprising a trisilanol polyhedral oligomeric polysilsesquioxane; two crosslinking agents; a hole transport molecule; an acid catalyst; and an alcohol solvent. The overcoat layer provides excellent wear resistance at a low cost.

An imaging member including a substrate; a charge generation layer; a charge transport layer containing a mixture including a polymer and charge transport components, wherein the mixture has a glass transition temperature of less than about 70&#xb0; C.; and an overcoat having a crosslinked polymer network including a resin, charge transport molecules, crosslinking component, an acid catalyst and an optional low surface component, and wherein the resin is a resin selected from the group consisting of polyester and polyol resins, and further wherein the resin has crosslinking sites selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl and carboxy groups.

Photosensitive member having an overcoat

An imaging member including a substrate; thereover a charge generating layer; thereover a first charge transport layer comprising a small molecule charge transport material and a polymeric component selected from the group consisting of polyarylamine polyester, polyacylamine, and mixtures and combinations thereof; and a second charge transport layer disposed over the first charge transport layer, the second charge transport layer comprising a small molecule charge transport material and a binder, wherein the second charge transport layer is free of polyarylamine polyester and polyacylamine.

Imaging members and process for preparing same
