Fluidic proximity sensing apparatus for use with a linear induction motor car. The apparatus is comprised of a floating sensor head in operative combination with a dual flapper valve which forms two air gaps. A change in the proximity of the sensor head to a track surface is converted to a dimensional variation in the air gaps, which in turn is sensed by fluidic oscillators.

Fluidic proximity sensor and related process

A vibration cancellation system having a fluidic driver providing fluid pressure differential and flow to an actuator having a reaction mass. The pressure differential drives the reaction mass so that the actuator's oscillations cancel any vibrations emanating from a vibrating structure mounted thereto.

Fluidic vibration cancellation actuator and method

A fluidic generator (38) employing a fluidic feedback oscillator (12) in combination with a magnetogenerator (41) is described. Oscillational changes in pressure produced within the feedback oscillator are transmitted to opposite sides of a pole cap (74) which reciprocates a coil (70) in a magnetic field.

Fluidic generator

A vibration cancellation mount for use in a vibration cancellation system is provided that includes a fluidic driver providing a modulated air stream to an elastomeric air spring. The pressure of the air stream is caused to fluctuate by an acoustical cancelling signal generated by an electroacoustic transducer electrically coupled to cancellation controller. As this pressure varies the air spring is filled and vented so that it responds at the same frequency and phase as the cancellation signal and thereby cancels the vibrations emanating from a vibrating structure mounted thereto. By employing a fluidic driver, the vibration cancellation mount is not frequency limited and can cancel vibrations having frequencies anywhere in the audio frequency spectrum.

A volumetric fluid flowmeter and method utilizes a venturi nozzle in the flow being measured, along with a negative feedback fluidic oscillator driven by a small bypass flow diverted from the main flow upstream of the venturi nozzle, and subsequently re-introduced into the main flow in the throat section of the venturi.

Electrical isolation and shielding also contribute to a high quality output signal in accordance with the invention. Fluidic volumetric fluid flow meter

A ramjet fuel control system that provides a regulated fuel pressure of a predetermined differential between the fuel pump pressure and the inlet pressure to a metering valve. The differential regulator uses a spool valve and sleeve in which the sleeve has ports positioned to prevent hydrodynamic flow force while the sleeve metering valve spool has rectangular ports so that the metering area which is uncovered by the spool is linearly related to the stroke of the valve spool.

Fluidic fuel control for advanced ramjet engines

A turbine engine fuel measuring and control system which incorporates a fluidic density sensor which is unaffected by variations in the physical characteristics of the fuel supplied to the engine.
