The invention generally relates to a facility wide sorting and/or sequencing system for improving product processing operations and, more particularly, to a facility wide system and related functionality for simultaneously sorting and sequencing mixed mail pieces such as, for example, flats and letter mail pieces. The flats and letter mail pieces are placed in frames so that all types of mail pieces can be sorted and/or sequenced simultaneously through merging and diverting a stream of filled trays into and out of different streams at a full or substantially full transport speed.

In particular, the present invention provides systems and methods that utilize layered peer review, originality analysis and contextual markup modules in one view. Systems and methods for document analysis

Systems for removing or attenuating friction and/or click noise generated during writing with a smart pen are disclosed. In a smart pen, the writing cartridge is biased towards a first side of the smart pen internal cavity by a low-force biasing system without affecting writing cartridge movement. For example, the writing cartridge is comprised of a magnetic material and a magnet is embedded into the first side of the smart pen internal cavity to bias the writing cartridge towards the first side. Alternatively, the material comprising the writing cartridge or smart pen internal cavity is modified, reducing friction between the components. As another alternative, a DSP method identifies analyzes one or more parameters of received audio data to differentiate click noise from audio data, and may receive data from a movement sensor indicating when the writing cartridge has moved to reduce power consumption for identifying click noise.

Removing click and friction noise in a writing device

A locking assembly for an astragal that would be attached to the inactive door of a double door unit that would be installed in a residence or a building. The astragal would be attached to the edge of the inactive door in the space between the inactive door and the active door. A separate locking assembly would be attached adjacent the top end of the door and also adjacent the bottom end of the door. A plug having an elongated locking bolt extending from it is mounted in the front end of the carriage member. Additional structure is provided for reciprocal travel of the carriage member between a locked position and an unlocked position.

A robot gripper jaw assembly includes a support plate having front and rear faces. Jaw mounts extend from the front face and cooperating jaws are pivotally mounted to the jaw mounts for gripping work. The support plate has an opening therein generally centrally disposed relative to the jaw mounts and a cylinder and piston assembly is secured to the support plate rear face in alignment with the opening. The piston of the cylinder and piston assembly extends through the opening and is engagable with the jaws so that forward and rearward movement of the piston causes cooperative pivoting of the jaws for closing and opening the jaws for gripping and releasing work. The support plate and the cylinder and piston assembly have a central rotational axis and the robot includes an assembly for simultaneously rotating the support plate and the cylinder and piston assembly on the rotational axis.

Robot gripping jaw operator

A rotary mechanism for robot arms and the like includes a base and a shaft rotatably connected to the base and extending therefrom. A first sprocket is carried by the shaft and a second sprocket is rotatably connected to the base in alignment with the first sprocket. A chain is operatively carried by and extends between the first and second sprockets so that movement of the chain causes cooperative rotation of the sprockets and thereby of the shaft. A cylinder and piston assembly has a first end connected to the base and a second longitudinally movable end engaged with the chain intermediate the first and second sprockets so that longitudinal movement of the second end causes associated movement of the chain and thereby rotation of the shaft. A manipulator is carried by the shaft and is pivotally disposed at one end thereof. A table is carried by the shaft and is disposed intermediate the one end and the first sprocket. Rest assemblies extend a preselected distance from the table and the rest assemblies are engagable with the manipulator and position the manipulator at preselected angular orientations relative to the axis of the shaft. A cylinder and piston assembly is used for pivoting the manipulator into engagement with the rest assemblies.

Rotary mechanism for robot arms

A rotary mechanism for robot manipulators and the like has a housing and a shaft moveably disposed in the housing so that an end portion thereof is movable toward and away from the housing. A cylinder and piston assembly is connected to the shaft for moving the shaft. A robot manipulator is connected to the end portion and a mechanism for operating the manipulator is also carried there. A support is connected to the shaft and is carried therewith and is disposed at a distance from the end portion. A chain drive system is operatively associated with the shaft for rotating the shaft on the longitudinal axis thereof. A pair of braces are disposed in the housing and are engaged with the support for preventing rotation of the support during operation of the chain drive mechanism.

Mechanism for rotating a robot arm on an axis

A device for tensioning and extending an elongate helical tension spring, one end of which is anchored and the other free end of which is disposed toward and spaced from a structure to which the spring is to be connected. The device includes a frame with a spring engaging saddle engageable with a side of the spring, between the ends thereof. The device next includes an elongate flexible girdle with one end anchored to the frame extending about the spring and having the other end releasably coupled to the frame. The device next includes a manually rotatable winch drum carried by the frame, a manually operable ratchet releasably stopping rotation of the drum and an elongate tow line with one end portion connected with and wound about the drum and its other end portion extending to and releasably coupled to the structure to which the spring is to be connected.

Garage door spring stretcher

A stapler for automatically driving staples of at least two different characteristics, such as length, into a workpiece. The stapler includes a staple driving member for driving staples into a workpiece, a staple forming member for forming staple blanks into staples and apparatus for selectively providing to the staple forming member staple blanks of at least first and second different lengths. Staple material of preselected first or second lengths is fed from a supply of a continuous length of staple material and severed from the continuous length to form the staple blanks.

An electrophotographic copying system is disclosed that employs a mixture of AC and DC corotrons energized by a common power supply. The DC corotrons are energized with an unfiltered, rectified AC voltage derived from the same source as the AC voltage applied to the AC corotrons so that all the corotrons are driven by voltages having a common wave shape. One of the corotrons is regulated by a feedback circuit coupled between the regulated or master corotron and the power supply. The other corotrons track the regulation of the master corotron.
