A system for warming up a steam turbine includes a gas turbine and a controller operably connected to the gas turbine. The controller is programmed to receive a plurality of measured input signals and control the gas turbine to produce an exhaust having a desired energy. A first measured input signal is reflective of a measured operating parameter of the gas turbine and a second measured input signal is reflective of an operating parameter of the steam turbine. A method for warming up a steam turbine includes sending a plurality of measured input signals to a controller, wherein a first measured input signal reflects a measured operating parameter of a gas turbine and a second measured input signal reflects an operating parameter of the steam turbine. The method further includes controlling the gas turbine based on the plurality of measured input signals and producing an exhaust from the gas turbine, wherein the exhaust has a desired energy.

System and method for warming up a steam turbine

A system and method in a combined cycle power plant includes a processor modeling plant level performance by considering the interrelation between outputs of the gas turbine and the steam turbine. The model can be computational, predictive, or both. The model may be used to control subsystems of the plant (including the gas turbine and the steam turbine) to achieve a target plant performance. The model may also be used to diagnose or maintain subsystems of the combined cycle power plant.

System and method for controlling and diagnosing a combined cycle power plant

Systems and methods for improved control of a turbomachine system with a bottoming cycle system are presented. The systems and methods include a controller that utilizes modeling techniques to derive a plurality of load path curves. The controller utilizes a current load path, a minimum load path, and a constant efficiency load path. The systems and methods include a control process configured to receive a user input representative of a life cycle control modality and to execute a control action based on deriving a load efficiency by applying the current load path, the minimum load path, the constant efficiency load path, or a combination thereof, and the life cycle control modality. The control action is applied to control the turbomachine system and the bottoming cycle system fluidly coupled to the turbomachine system. Further, the life cycle control modalities may be selected by a user based upon known tradeoffs.

Systems and methods for improved combined cycle control

An integrated turbomachine plant is provided and includes a combustor a turbomachine operably connected to the combustor and including a compressor and a turbine expander, a pathway to flow compressed air from the compressor through the turbine expander to heat the compressed air, an additional pathway by which high temperature fluids output from the turbomachine are employed to heat the compressed air and an air separation unit operably connected to the pathway and configured to separate the heated compressed air into oxygen and oxygen-depleted air.

Integrated turbomachine plant

A method of assembling a steam turbine power system with a coolant source is provided. The method includes providing a first steam turbine train including a first high pressure turbine assembly, a first low pressure turbine assembly coupled in flow communication with the first high pressure turbine assembly, and a first condenser coupled in flow communication with the first low pressure turbine assembly. The method also includes providing a second steam turbine train including a second high pressure turbine assembly, a second low pressure turbine assembly coupled in flow communication with the second high pressure turbine assembly, and a second condenser coupled in flow communication with the second low pressure turbine assembly. The method further includes coupling cooling tubes to the first condenser and the second condenser, the cooling tubes configured to deliver coolant from the coolant source through the first condenser, from the first condenser through the second condenser, and from the second condenser back to the coolant source.
