A diverter valve receives fluid from an inlet port. A camshaft is rotated within a housing to slide a cam follower along an axis to regulate fluid flow to an outlet port when the camshaft is rotated. The housing provides an inlet port and first and second outlet ports. The camshaft includes a cam lobe that is offset relative to a rotational axis of the camshaft. The cam follower is supported on the cam lobe and is movable along a longitudinal axis to selectively block at least one of the first and second ports. In one embodiment, first and second cam followers are used to selectively block outlet ports that are arranged approximately 90 degrees from one another. The first and second cam followers move in first and second directions transverse to one another. In another embodiment, a single cam follower is used to regulate flow through two outlet ports that are arranged approximately 180 degrees from one another.

A shower assembly is provided that includes a shower head having an integrated diverter valve. The shower head receives a detachable hand-held shower wand. The diverter valve is arranged upstream of an adjustable connector so that length is not added to the shower assembly that would interfere with headroom. A cam shaft of the diverter valve is rotated to selectively control fluid flow between the shower head and the hand-held shower wand. Cam followers are moved linearly in response to rotation of the cam shaft to selectively block first and second outlet ports.

A multiple head shower system particularly designed for retrofit installation on an existing shower system, and having a head member with a primary outlet and at least one secondary outlet, a primary shower head, at least one elongated water conduit, and at least one secondary on/off water valve member. The secondary valve members are secured to the shower enclosure with a bracket member and an adhesive. The header member is secured to the existing shower system with a threaded connection or a slip-fit connection. Preferably, a pair of secondary on/off water valve members and conduits are provided.

The showerhead engine assemblies provide different combinations and variations of continuous, deflected, pulsating sprays, and aeration spray patterns including those that are adjustable enabling wide variations in the degree of aeration of the water passing through the showerhead, enabling wide variation of the characteristics of the water spray patterns. The spray patterns include a nondeflected, nonpulsating spray pattern; a deflected nonpulsating spray pattern; a nondeflected, pulsating spray pattern; and a deflected, pulsating spray pattern, while enabling the engine assembly to be self-cleaning. For pulsating spray modes, the showerhead engine assembly includes but five plastic parts and an O-ring seal; the parts being a stator, a spinner, an engager, a pressure plate, and a faceplate, openings beings disposed in the pressure plate and faceplate to enable fluid flow therefrom. Deflecting surfaces on the faceplate enable a variety of different flow patterns. Spinner rotation starts or stops depending upon the position of the spinner relative to the stator, since the stator includes a pair of stop flanges that engage and disengage with the spinner. When the spinner is disengaged and free to rotate, water flow through passages in the spinner cause spinner rotation, creating a vortex and pulsating spray patterns. The series of showerhead engine assemblies include component parts that are interchangeable, the number of component parts being minimal, the interchangeability reducing the number of spare parts necessary to repair the series of showerhead engine assemblies.

The showerhead security cover prevents unauthorized access to a connector of a shower assembly. The connector secures the showerhead to the shower arm, the connector, showerhead, and shower arm being standard without any modification required. The showerhead security cover comprises a housing and a lock. The lock is integral with the housing. Once the lock is engaged, the housing encases the connector and prevents access to the connector. Once the lock is engaged, there is no substantial rotational movement of the connector relative to the shower arm. One end wall of the housing seats against an end of the connector during engagement preventing any substantial axial movement of the connector relative to the connector. The housing is strong enough to prevent engagement with the connector even when the housing is grasped with pliers. Disengagement is enabled by the use of a special tool to allow authorized access to the connector.
