A lock includes an electrically powered locking mechanism operable between locked and unlocked positions, a power supply, and a controller for operating the locking mechanism between locked and unlocked positions. The controller regulates the amount of electric power supplied to the electrically powered locking mechanism and determines temperature in the vicinity of the locking mechanism, and is capable of supplying first and second levels of electric power to the electrically powered locking mechanism in accordance with the temperature in the vicinity of the locking mechanism. If the temperature in the vicinity of the locking mechanism is within a predetermined temperature range, a first level of electric power is supplied to the electrically powered locking mechanism to operate between locked and unlocked positions. If the temperature is below the predetermined temperature range, a second, lower level of electric power is supplied to the electrically powered locking mechanism.

A deadbolt lock assembly including a retractable and extendable deadbolt, a housing, an outside member movably mounted on the housing and being normally disconnected from the deadbolt, and an operator input device on the housing, with the operator input device connecting the member to the deadbolt in response to presentation of an appropriate credential, such that a force applied to the member by the operator is mechanically transmitted to the deadbolt to move the deadbolt.

A delayed egress exit push rail system for a door has a push rail movable relative to a housing between a home position and a second position to open the door, a sensor for determining the position of the push rail as the push rail moves between the home position and the second position and a controller connected to the sensor. The sensor detects a current position of the push rail in the home position and the controller determines if the current position of the push rail detected by the sensor is within a predetermined acceptable range of positions relative to the home position. If the controller determines that the current position of the push rail is outside of the predetermined range, the controller unlocks the door for immediate egress, relays an error message via light or sound and/or communicates with a remote monitoring device.

An apparatus including a motor that has a rotatable output shaft extending outward from the motor and defining a rotational axis. The apparatus also includes a coupler that is coupled to the output shaft for rotation therewith, and a coil spring that is coupled to the coupler without external attachment means such that rotation of the coupler is transferred to the coil spring.

Motor drive mechanism for an electronic deadbolt lock

An apparatus and method for releasably mounting access control components for a door lock to a door. A base element is adapted to be mounted to the door. A first wire connector element is mounted to the base element. A mounting element with combustible material attached is provided. A second wire connector element is mounted to the mounting element, and the second wire connector element is releasably connected to the first wire connector element to mount the mounting element to the base element. A spring is provided, and a retainer holds the spring in a loaded state, but in a fire event the retainer may melt, allowing the spring to apply force to the mounting element. Alternatively, an expanding material may apply the force. The force causes the wire connector elements to disconnect and allow the mounting element to separate from the base element.

Door lock access control component mounting

A keypad lockset adapted for deadbolt as well as lever locks, and having as a first embodiment an exterior gear train, an interior gear train, and an electronically controlled clutch for coupling the gear trains when engaged and for uncoupling the gear trains when the clutch is disengaged, so that when the clutch is engaged rotation of an external thumb turn will permit the door latch to be withdrawn and thus to permit opening of the door, and a mechanical override mechanism that can be operated in case of electrical failure, and in which clutch mechanism and the override mechanism both operate through the single, standard 2&#x215b; inch door preparation hole, or alternatively as a second embodiment, a keypad lockset in which two four-bar mechanical linkages are used in place of gears as means to actuate the clutch, and alternatively to provide for a pass-through override function.

An interface assembly is for an electronic device including a base and a control on the base and includes a contact on the base and coupled with the control and a data port spaced from the contact. A conductor is disposed between the data port and the contact such that data is transmissible between the data port and the contact through the conductor. The conductor is generally compressed or/and compressible between the data port and the contact and is formed of a conductive carbon material. The data port is spaced from the contact by a distance within a range of values, and the conductor provides a conductive path between the data port and the contact at each spacing distance value. A fluid impermeable cover is disposed over the base and covers the control and the contact to prevent moisture from contacting these components, with the conductor extending through the cover.

Data interface assembly for electronic locks and readers

A exit bar for securing a door has a housing adapted for mounting to a door. A push pad for receiving a push force is mounted to the housing. A latch extends from the housing to releasably latch the door to which the exit bar is mounted. A link system links the push pad to the latch so that a push force exerted on the push pad releases the latch. An electromagnetic disposed in the housing causes an armature to engage the link system to retract the latch. The exit bar further dogs the latch in the unlatched position as long as the power control system for the electromagnet receives an operate signal and for a preestablished delay time after the operate signal has been removed.
