Low permeation fittings and low permeation plastic containers using same are constructed by molding an outer component into the wall of a plastic container while it is being formed. This causes the opening of a passageway in the outer component to be covered with wall forming material. The inner component is then inserted into the outer component through the wall forming material thereby trapping the wall material between the internal and external components. The barrier layer of the container wall is therefore continuous from the container to inside the fitting. A new fuel container, fuel neck fitting, and flange for mounting components on a fuel tank are disclosed.

Low permeation fittings, low permeation containers utilizing same, and methods for forming same

A fuel vapor adsorption brick for use in a fuel vapor management system. The fuel adsorption brick is formed of a mixture of activated carbon and plastic compressed to a desired size and shape and placed within a portion of either the fuel tank or fuel tank attachments. The carbon/plastic brick is easy to make and provides great geometric flexibility for optimum vehicle packaging. The carbon/plastic brick may reduce or minimize the number of discrete parts used in a fuel tank assembly, as it can be integrated into either a fuel tank or fuel tank attachment, thereby eliminating the need for a separate carbon canister. The carbon/plastic brick minimizes or eliminates carbon dust associated adsorption/desorption cycles and also eliminates the need for apparatus to maintain carbon bed integrity.

Method for producing carbon/plastic bricks for use in an evaporative control system

A fuel tank having a fuel filler pipe, the filler pipe having a first end receiving fuel and a second end communicating with the interior of the tank; and a pervious conduit attached to the second end and extending into the tank below the fuel surface.

Method of forming a compression molded door assembly

A compression molded door assembly is disclosed. A rectangular frame is not required. The edges of the opposed door skins include integral mating edge members over at least a portion of the side edges. A vertical stile may be positioned along another edge.

Improved frame assembly for doors, windows and the like is provided. The assembly includes a frame defining an opening for receiving and retaining a central panel. The frame is formed from two joined skins which may be molded in the same mold and which are provided with inwardly extending flanges having notched areas on opposite sides of the flanges such that the skins can be joined together to form a lap joint on the exterior edge and to seal a central panel in the opening. Foamable insulating material is provided as a core between the two skins with a separate sealant material provided to seal the central panel. Passage means are provided for introducing the sealant material and the insulating material.

Frame assembly for doors, windows and the like

A bevelled glass assembly and method of making is disclosed. A sheet of annealed glass has at least one groove ground on one surface. At least one other groove intersects the first groove. Both grooves define an array of parallel striations. The sheet of glass is then tempered. The sheet of glass is normally surrounded by a frame.

An improved frame assembly for doors, windows and the like is disclosed. A frame receives a central panel which defines an edge about its exterior perimeter. The frame comprises a first and second skins in opposed relationship defining a cavity therebetween. The interior edge of the frame has internal support ribs which act in conjunction with the interior edge of the frame to grip the edge of the central panel while the exterior edges of the skins are separated by a sizable insert. The cavity between the skins is filled with a foamable insulating material which surrounds the edge of the central panel and forms a weathertight seal.

A compression molded door assembly is disclosed. A pair of compression molded skins are mounted on a rectangular perimeter frame which extends outwardly from the edges of the skins. The compression molded skins include a molding resin and reinforcing glass fibers. The outer surface of the skin is essentially devoid of glass fibers for a predetermined distance. A foamed core is positioned within the frame in adhering relationship to the opposed skins. A texture is molded on the exterior of the skins which simulates the grain and texture of a wood door.

Charge accumulation inhibitor (100) in FIG. 2 of fuel filler pipe (200) prevents an accumulation of a portion of electrical charge that a conductor such as cap flange retainer (302) or a fuel dispending metallic spout may otherwise, in absence of inhibitor 100 or grounding of the spout, acquire. Inhibitor (100) is made of semi conductive material such as a nylon 12 filled with conductive particulate to yield a volume of resistivity of between about 1.times.10.sup.2 -1.times.10.sup.5 ohm-centimeters.
