A disposable oral care implement that provides various oral care functions in a compact form is disclosed therein. The disposable oral care implement includes a body, a polishing block attached to a first end of the body, and one or more oral care tools coupled to a second end of the body. The one or more oral care tools may include a tongue scrapper, an inter-dental pick, a brush, a floss holder, and/or a gum stimulator. The body of the disposable oral care implement may be formed by injection molding. The oral care tool may be formed on the second end of the body by over-molding while the polishing block may be attached to the first end of the body by way of press-fit.

A peripherally defined resilient ampule for storage and dispersement of encapsulated material provides a rearward cylinder-like reservoir body communicating through a transition element to a forwardly extending tapering spout defining a geometrically similar channel therethrough to a sealed tip to create an enclosed containment chamber. The forward portion of the spout may be angulated relative to the body axis. The ampule is formed of resiliently deformable thermal plastic that is configurationally sustaining, but manually deformable for expression of contained material. The spout may be severed at selected axial positions to determine orifice size and configuration and may carry ancillary dispersement devices. A forming process is disclosed to form the ampule from a molded blank of thermal plastic material by thermally activating and drawing the spout, optionally angulating the forward spout portion and sealing the forward spout end.

Resilient dispersing ampule and process for formation thereof

An ampule having a body portion and a sealed end portion and a sealed delivery portion adapted for use in a delivery syringe system for controllably dispensing a low viscosity material, such as a liquid, gel, or paste. An ampule having sealed rear portions adapted to mate with a plunger of a syringe so as to facilitate controlled dispensing of a low viscosity material. The syringe has a plunger adapted to grasp the collapsed ampule, facilitating removal, as well as breach openings positioned to provide controlled initial flow of the dispensed low viscosity material. In one embodiment, a barrel having different internal diameters is used to improve dispensing of material within an ampule. Low viscosity materials such as liquids and gels are controllably dispensed in a measured unit dose quantity. The present invention has many applications, but is particularly applicable to dispensing low viscosity materials such as used in coatings and not injected parenterally, and is particularly applicable to dental applications.

Resilient ampule with angulated spout for medicaments

An elongate peripherally defined ampule having a handle-like reservoir structurally communicating with a medial articulating element which interconnects an elongate spout to define an enclosed containment chamber. The ampule is formed of resiliently deformable material to allow dispersement of contents by manual deformation of the ampule structure and to allow accurate placement of expressed contents by manipulation of the articulating element and spout structure. The spout provides a relatively small end portion and an outwardly tapering medial channel for severance at selected positions to provide dispersement orifices of different sizes and shapes. The ampule defines a containment chamber of up to the two cubic centimeter volume range for dispersement of extrudable materials of a fluidic, gelatinous, or powdered nature, and especially for pre-measured single use quantities of chemicals, medicaments and the like. The ampule is preferably formed by molding polymeric or resinous plastic materials.

Antiseptic dental shields for preventing contamination of hand-held dental devices with infective micro-organisms or other pathogenic substances are disclosed. Such shields comprise an elongated disposable sanitary sleeve which cover at least a substantial portion of exterior surfaces of the hand-held dental devices. The sleeves are flexible, transparent, and sufficiently thin for accommodating manual manipulation of controls on the hand-held dental devices while maintaining sterility thereof. A disposable hanger adapter can be employed to connect with existing hangers which conveniently mount hand-held dental devices to further prevent contaminants from being transferred from one dental patient to another.
