Disclosed is a method and device to control a spray pattern produced from a spraying device consisting of a plurality of individual jets that form the resulting spray pattern. The trajectory of each individual jet is controlled by orienting the nozzle-like feature that produces each individual jet, thereby producing a variety of spray patterns. This is accomplished utilizing the flexible properties of elastomeric or rubber-like materials. In addition to allowing for deformation or movement to remove possible obstructions to the fluid flow, this flexibility property also permits for specific, controlled movements, whereby it is possible to control the trajectory of the fluid issuing from the device. These rubber-like materials can include specific features that allow the material to be deformed in a controlled fashion so as to predictably control the trajectory of the streams issuing from the individual nozzles.

Adjustable trajectory spray nozzles

Disclosed is a method and device for fluid handling relating to controlling and directing the water streams from spray devices utilizing multiple liquid streams to produce an effluent that enhances a user's perception of spray performance. In the disclosed embodiments, a cavity acts as a mixing chamber for multiple fluid jets that enter the cavity at various locations, angles and flow rates. By positioning these inlet ports in the upper portion of the cavity, and with the ability to precisely direct and meter the fluid flow, the spray device may achieve a multitude of flow patterns from an outlet.

Fluid spray control device

A water filter cartridge has a cylindrical shell. A conduit runs between closing end walls and is disposed within a filtration material. There are additional openings in the respective end walls for communicating the flow of water through the material. A water filtration element of a porous medium is shaped to nest within a portion of the shell encircling a corresponding portion of the filtration material and defining space between the medium and the inner side wall of the shell with that space being in the water flow path from one of the end walls and the material through the medium. A reference color is exhibited over a portion of the exterior side wall of the shell adjacent to the location of the medium inside the shell, and the medium exhibits a given color upon beginning of usage but changes color with continued usage in response to its entrapment of matter in the water. The shell is transparent over the medium to enable the user to compare the medium color to the reference color. The filtration material is secured in place by a plug forming one of the end walls and which has an opening around its periphery with a water pervious ring being sandwiched between that peripheral opening and the space defined on the outside of the filtration medium.

Water filter cartridge

The housing of an oral hygiene device is attachable to a water faucet. A regulator within the housing responds to the water which is subject to pressure variation. The regulator accommodates that variation in developing automatically a stream of water at a constant pressure. A turbine within the housing is caused to rotate in response to energy in the stream. A piston pump draws water deflected by impellers on the turbine and forms that water into a series of pulses. A flexible hose coupled to the housing includes a handle for directing the pulses against the teeth and gums of a user at a desired pressure.

Water-powered oral hygiene device

An electric toothbrush housing contains a motor, a battery and a secondary coil coupled to charge the battery. An elongated magnetic core is disposed within that secondary coil. A well is defined in a base which receives a portion of the housing within which the secondary coil is positioned. In that base is a primary coil for inducing magnetic energy into the secondary coil. Disposed within the primary coil is an elongated stud of magnetic material. It is aligned axially with the core, so that respective end portions are mutually adjacent. One of those end portions is generally cup shaped and the other is formed and relatively oriented to nest within the first.

Rechargeable electric portable appliance

A sprayer has a hollow housing with an inlet port and an outlet opening. A cap assembly closes the outlet opening and includes a plurality of sets of discharge orifices with each set exhibiting an individually different characteristic of orifice flow of fluid from the housing interior. The orifice sets are selectively opened to the passage of flow out of the housing and that flow is valved. Different sets of the orifices provide for a fine-spray cone, larger streams and a swirling jet. A porting seal cooperates with a selector plate to enable fluid communication to different sets of orifices and an overall valving assembly also is included. Still further is a stand for the sprayer which supports it, when desired, above a holder or in a manner which enables convenient storage.
