An impeller assembly for a snowthrower includes a driven shaft configured to rotate about an axis, a flexible impeller configured to rotate about the axis and extending horizontally across substantially a complete width of the impeller assembly parallel to the axis, and a rigid cutting implement. The flexible impeller extends radially from the driven shaft to an impeller radial distance. The rigid cutting implement extends radially from the driven shaft to a cutting implement radial distance less than the impeller radial distance, wherein the rigid cutting implement is spaced apart from and does not contact the flexible impeller.

An impeller assembly for a snowthrower includes a driven shaft configured to rotate about an axis, a flexible impeller paddle coupled to the driven shaft for rotation about the axis, and a rigid cutting implement coupled to the driven shaft for rotation about the axis. The flexible impeller paddle is configured to clear snow from a surface to be cleared. The flexible impeller paddle extends radially from the axis to a paddle radial distance. The rigid cutting implement is configured to break up snow or ice on the surface to be cleared. A cap assembly includes a body and a tether. The body is configured to be fastened to a container for closing an opening in the container. An aperture is formed in the body, and the tether has a fastener, where a portion of the fastener extends through the aperture in the body. A gap is formed between the portion of the fastener and the body that allows for venting of vapors from the container around the portion of the fastener that is extending through the aperture.

A fuel tank cap includes a housing having a side wall, a bottom wall, and a receptacle, a fuel vapor adsorption material positioned within the receptacle, an inlet at least partially defined by the bottom wall and configured to provide fluid communication with a fuel tank vapor space, an outlet at least partially defined by the bottom wall and configured to provide fluid communication with the atmosphere, an internal wall extending from the bottom wall at least partially into the receptacle, and an aperture at least partially defined by the internal wall and configured to permit fuel vapor to flow in a vapor flow path from one side of the internal wall to the other side of the internal wall.

A fuel tank cap for a fuel tank of an engine. The fuel tank cap includes a fuel cap cover, a housing having a side wall, a bottom wall, and a receptacle, a fuel vapor adsorption material positioned within the receptacle, an inlet disposed near the bottom wall and configured to provide fluid communication with a fuel tank vapor space, an outlet disposed near the bottom wall and configured to provide fluid communication with the atmosphere, an internal wall adjacent the bottom wall and disposed between the inlet and the outlet, and at least one aperture configured to permit fuel vapor to flow in a vapor flow path from one side of the internal wall to the other side of the internal wall.

An air cleaner for an engine that includes a fuel tank and an air-fuel mixing device. The air cleaner includes a housing that defines an internal filter space and a canister at least partially formed as part of the housing. The canister is substantially non-permeable to fuel vapor. A first aperture provides fluid communication between the fuel tank and the canister and a second aperture provides fluid communication between the canister and the air-fuel mixing device.

Integrated air cleaner and vapor containment system

A fuel tank for an engine that includes an air cleaner assembly and an air-fuel mixing device. The fuel tank includes a first tank portion and a second tank portion connected to the first tank portion to define a fuel chamber. A canister is at least partially formed as part of the second tank portion and a first flow path is at least partially formed as part of the first tank portion. The first flow path provides fluid communication between the fuel chamber and the canister. A second flow path is at least partially formed as part of the second tank portion to provide fluid communication between the canister and at least one of the air-fuel mixing device and the air cleaner assembly.

Integrated fuel tank and vapor containment system

A fuel tank for an engine that includes an air cleaner assembly and an air-fuel mixing device. The fuel tank includes a first tank portion, a second tank portion connected to the first tank portion to define a fuel chamber, and a canister at least partially formed as part of the first tank portion. A first flow path is at least partially formed as part of the first tank portion. The first flow path provides fluid communication between the fuel chamber and the canister. A second flow path is at least partially formed as part of the first tank portion to provide fluid communication between the canister and at least one of the air-fuel mixing device and the air cleaner assembly.

A locking mechanism for an outboard motor is provided which prevents a moveable segment of the outboard motor from rotating about a steering axis relative to a stationary segment of the outboard motor. A slidable rod is disposed within a tilt tube of the outboard motor and is connected by a connecting link to the moveable segment of the outboard motor. If a locking device, such as a pin, is inserted through holes in the tilt tube and the rod, relative movement of the tilt tube and the rod can be prevented. If this relative movement is prevented, the moveable segment of the outboard motor is locked in position relative to the stationary segment of the outboard motor to which the tilt tube is attached.
