This invention, in contrast to other golf club head inventions, presents an entirely new concept in the formulation of golf club heads. Wherein this invention utilizes the scientific properties of the spherical weight, resulting in substantial improvements in the functioning of the golf club heads and the corresponding improvements in the golf swing. A spherical weight is disposed in golf club heads, as specified, employing the scientific properties of the sphere, to develop an 'in line momentum'. This results in a responsive control and an easier executed golf swing. The conventional golf club, actually, is made like a small paddle with an upright handle at one end. Whereas, the golf club, of this invention, because of its specifications, embodies the weight of the club head, the spherical weight, and the club shaft, substantially, all in one line, producing a superior functioning golf club.

A brake apparatus for a wheelchair is mounted on one side of a wheelchair, with a corresponding brake apparatus mounted on the opposite side of a wheelchair. The brake apparatus includes an upper assembly mounted on the wheelchair frame just below the padded arm rest of the wheelchair. The upper assembly includes a brake lever and brake handle for locking and unlocking the wheels on each side. The upper assembly is connected to an adjustable strut, which connects to the lower assembly. The lower assembly includes a system of link arms that allows a brake arm having a brake shoe to lock and unlock the wheel on the wheelchair. The length of the strut may be adjusted and the position of the upper and lower assemblies may also be adjusted so that the brake assembly can be configured for operation on various sizes of wheelchairs.

This invention creates a new and truly scientifically advanced design and structuring of golf club heads based on Sir Isaac Newton's First Law of Motion. A very precise and controlled path of inertial swing is then developed by this gyroscopic club head. This is accomplished by utilizing a spherical metal weight positioned rearward of the striking surface. Further, a weight is positioned at the club head's center of gravity. Further again, a metal spherical weight is positioned at the club head's center of gravity. All this creates and results in a smooth, easy and natural flowing swing which is in one arc line and in one plane. The concept presented herein, enables the manufacture of unlimited variety of golf clubs.

A hinge for an orthopedic splint has two plates hinged for pivotal movement relative to each other and a detent engageable for locking the plates at a selected angle to each other, and a spring urging the detent into engagement. The detent is protected in a recessed guideway against operation with the unaided hand to discourage tampering with the splint settings by the patient fitted with same, but is retractable with a pointed tool inserted in the recess or a removable screw threaded in the detent as a finger hold. The screw may also pass through the detent and if tightened against an underlying plate keeps the detent disengaged to facilitate adjustment of the splint. The hinge allows left and right hand angular settings of the splint to either side of a zero angle for ambidextrous use of the splint, and radial tabs with directional markings are provided as visual indicators of the angular setting of the splint hinge.

This invention of a golf club putter head, attempts to minimize torque and wobble of the club head by placing two especially designed weights at the rear of the club head so that they are aligned with the sides of the ball. These two weights work together and impart a force to the ball on its sides as well as at its center. The result is that, there is less torque on the club head because of the disposition of the weights in the proximity of the ball and shorter torque arm leverage which minimizes the intensity of the torque. The net result is that, we have a putter head which is stable, providing positive control of the putt and which feels natural and in line, in the back swing and down swing and at impact.

This invention, the 'Dual Purpose Golf Putting practice Device', is characterized by two unique concepts which offers the player a practice device which better simulates the conditions of putting on the golf course green. One is a 'vertical target hole', constructed with &#x201c;Flaps&#x201d;, into which properly putt balls role, and disappears as into the hole on the golf course green. The other is the arrangement of &#x201c;Flaps&#x201d;in rows, which intercept balls according to their rolling force, enabling the player to practice the required force for putting from various distances. The device consists of a housing, having no bottom surface, a target cage, which provides a circular target as the hole, and row or rows of &#x201c;Flaps&#x201d;, which indicate the force of the rolling ball.

A feeding device for use by persons with limited or no use of their arms, wherein a spoon is mounted on supporting and counterbalancing levers and is associated with a mouth-piece in such a manner that the user can manipulate the spoon to lift food from a dish, can then place the spoon on a fixed support and then adjust the spoon to a position for convenient eating of the food. The spoon mounting includes an adjustable support for a counterbalancing spring. All the parts are mounted on a flat base which is adapted also to support the food dish.

An adjustable resistance orthopedic splint has two arms hinged to each other, each arm having two parallel spaced apart tubular segments joined by an application pad. A cable stretched between the arms is contained in the tubular segments and partially wrapped around the hinge. The cable is held under tension by an adjustable spring assembly to apply a variable torque urging the arms apart towards extension about the hinge.

A reclining seat back replaces a canvas seat back in a wheelchair frame. The reclining back has left and right brackets which attach to existing upright back supports of the wheelchair frame. A reclining back pivoted to the brackets is adjustable to a desired recline position.

Conventional golf balls are engineered according to aerodynamic specifications, basically to perform in flight. These balls are not suitable for the terrain of the grass. No consideration has been given to make conventional golf balls putting compatible. Conventional balls are aerodynamic and the improved golf ball for putting, presented in this invention, is a 'Terradynamic Ball'. This invention provides a ball engineered primarily for putting and is accomplished by giving the ball more inertia and power and by decreasing friction and resistance. It is designed according to the Laws of Motion, which states that, 'Every body continues in its state of rest, or motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled by some external force to change that state'. This 'Terradynamic Ball' comprises a heavy metal core, to provide greater inertia, and a lower center of mass, and a cover whose outer surface is uniformly even and smooth, minimizing friction rolling over grass. These factors, working together, in combination, develope greater stability in the rolling ball, and, consequently, create a greater accuracy in putting.

A portable commode with spring assisted lifting seat has a lightweight self-supporting stand, a seat hinged to the frame and a pair of pneumatic springs for lifting the seat to an elevated position. The springs yield under the body weight of the user to depress the seat to a lowered position. The springs can be easily set at different positions on the seat to adjust for users of different body weights. A removable waste receptacle on the frame permits the commode to be used by itself, as at a bedside location, or over a conventional toilet bowl installation.

A novel and unique golf club, particularly a putter, is disclosed which has an effective structure for attaching the shaft of the club to the club head, such that the result is a self-compensating putter and consistently accurate putts. In a preferred embodiment, a golf club is provided which comprises a shaft and a club head having a front face. The club head has a length along which the front face extends. Advantageously, the shaft is attached to the club head at two discrete mounting locations along the length of the club head, which results in a consistently stable and comfortable swing.

An orthopedic splint has two end plates connected to an intermediate hinge which flexes in a plane transverse to the plates and attaches to a limb in a less obtrusive position behind the joint rather than on opposite sides of the joint. The hinge has continuously adjustable stops for limiting flexing and extension and a spring contained in the hinge for preloading the splint. The entire splint including the hinge may be enclosed and contained in a zippered moisture absorbent contour fitting cover for improved esthetic appearance and comfort.

A seating device for aged, infirm and handicapped persons includes a passive, pivotably mounted, energy storage device laterally disposed below a seat base, and a parallelogram linkage between the seat base and a chair seat for controlling elevation and tilting motion of the seat. A lever which can be coupled at selectable points along an arc about the pivot point of the energy storage device exerts torque on the parallelogram linkage to oppose downward movement and aid upward movement. By varying the position of engagement of the energy storage device to the lever, the force exerted can be adjusted to the weight of the user.
