Embodiments may generally take the form of a degradable composite structure and a method for controlling the rate of degradation of a degradable composite structure. An example embodiment may take the form of a degradable polymer matrix composite (PMC) including a matrix having: a degradable polymer, a fiber reinforcement, and particulate fillers. The fiber loading is between approximately 10% to 70% by weight and the particulate loading is between approximately 5% to 60%.

Pump apparatus, systems and methods

Power and control logic configurations for gas well dewatering systems are provided. In one example, a reservoir is configured to contain hydraulic, lubricating fluid. An electric motor is configured to receive fluid from the reservoir for lubrication and a hydraulic pump powered by the electric motor is configured to receive fluid from the reservoir and pump the fluid into a hydraulic circuit. A positive displacement oscillating pump is powered by the hydraulic pump and configured to pump fluid from the reservoir to an outlet from the well. The electric motor and hydraulic pump receive the same fluid from the reservoir for lubrication and to create pressure in the hydraulic circuit, respectively. A switching device is connected to the hydraulic circuit and is switchable between a first position wherein fluid pressure from the hydraulic pump causes the piston pump to move in a first direction and a second position wherein fluid pressure from the hydraulic pump causes the piston pump to move in a second direction.

Gas well dewatering system

A submersible pumping system includes a submersible pump; a gauge disposed proximate the submersible pump; a Stirling cooler disposed proximate the gauge, wherein the Stirling cooler has a cold end configured to remove heat from the gauge and a hot end configured to dissipate heat; and an energy source configured to power the submersible pumping system.

To perform a cleanout operation in a wellbore, a cleaning tool having a coiled tubing and an electrical pump assembly is run into the wellbore. The electrical pump assembly that is located in the wellbore is activated. In response to fluid flow generated by the electrical pump assembly, removal of debris from the wellbore is caused by directing fluid containing the debris into the coiled tubing for delivery to an earth surface.

A technique is provided to facilitate pumping of fluids in a well. A submersible pumping system utilizes a submersible motor to power a submersible pump. A motor protector works in cooperation with the submersible motor to protect motor fluid within the submersible motor and to reduce differential pressures between the internal motor fluid and the external well fluid. The motor protector incorporates a piston slidably sealed within an interior cavity of the motor protector for movement to reduce undue differential pressures.
