A method of custom manufacturing a flame arrestor assembly configured to extinguish a flame propagating therethrough. The method includes creating a customized flame cell using an additive manufacturing technique, which generally includes forming a body and forming one or more channels in the body. The one or more channels define a flow path configured to transfer heat from a flame front propagating through the flow path to the body. The method also includes providing a housing, and securely arranging the flame cell within the housing.

Method for manufacturing a flame arrestor

A method of custom manufacturing a flame arrestor includes providing a housing having an interior surface and an exterior surface where the exterior surface of the housing is shaped to fit within a fluid passageway. The method includes forming, using an additive manufacturing technique, a three-dimensional lattice structure by depositing a first material onto the interior surface of the housing in a predetermined pattern. The lattice structure includes a plurality of connected lattice members forming channels extending from a first end to a second end of the three-dimensional lattice structure. An element of a second material is provided adjacent to the three-dimensional lattice structure. The second material is different than the first material and the element is configured to draw heat away from fluid flowing through the plurality of channels.

Monitoring systems and methods for a relief valve system. In one example, a monitoring system for a relief valve includes at least one tilt sensor coupled to one or more of a cover or a latch of the relief valve. The at least one tilt sensor is associated with an interface. Upon detection by the at least one tilt sensor that one of the cover is open or the latch is unlocked, a signal is transmitted by the interface indicating one or more of the cover is open or the latch is unlocked.

An example apparatus includes a first portion that is attachable to a tank, wherein the first portion includes a first opening, and a second portion that is pivotably coupled to the first portion. The example apparatus is structured to provide access to an aperture in the tank via the first opening when the second portion is in an open state and maintain a pressure of the tank within a specified range by selectively separating one or more seals from one or more corresponding sealing surfaces when the second portion is in a closed state, wherein the second portion includes the one or more seals and the one or more corresponding sealing surfaces.

Thief hatches with diaphragm assisted sealing are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a base attachable to a tank, and a cover attachable to the base via a hinge. The example apparatus further includes a vacuum seal assembly couplable to the cover, and a diaphragm coupled to a stem of the vacuum seal assembly. The diaphragm is moveable in response to a pressure differential between a first pressure within the tank and a second pressure exterior to the tank.

Apparatus to protect sealing surfaces of thief hatches are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a base attachable to a tank around an aperture in the tank. The example apparatus further includes a spacer supported by a support surface of the base. The example apparatus also includes a cover selectively moveable between a closed position covering the aperture and an open position providing access to the aperture, the spacer separating the cover from the base.

A flame cell of a flame arrestor may include a body of a first material having a first end, a second end, and a plurality of channels formed in the body and extending from the first end to the second end of the body. The flame cell may also include an element of a second material coupled to the body, the second material being different from the first material. The element may be configured to draw heat away from fluid flowing through the plurality of channels.

A storage system includes a storage tank adapted to store a fluid therein, a flame arrestor being positioned downstream from the storage tank, a thermal valve being positioned downstream from the flame arrestor, and a flare stack being positioned downstream from and in fluid communication with the thermal valve. An outlet port of the storage tank is in fluid communication with an inlet port of the flame arrestor, and an outlet port of the flame arrestor is in fluid communication with an inlet port of the thermal valve. A flow path is formed between the storage tank and the flare stack via the flame arrestor and the thermal valve. The thermal valve has a cross-sectional area along a direction of the flow path which is substantially vacant of physical detonation-inducing obstructions.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed toward a pressure vacuum relief valve and a seal assembly of the pressure vacuum relief valve. The seal assembly includes a ribbed substrate disposed against a flanged seat of the pressure vacuum relief valve. The ribbed substrate includes ribs extending from a base of the ribbed substrate. The seal assembly also includes a pallet coupled to and disposed below the ribbed substrate. The pallet includes a top ring, a bottom ring, and a flexible diaphragm captured between the top ring and the bottom ring. The flexible diaphragm of the pallet is configured to seal against the ribbed substrate in a sealed position. The pallet and ribbed substrate are configured to move together away from the flanged seat when a pressure on a sealed side of the pressure vacuum relief valve exceeds a maximum pressure threshold. The pallet is also configured to pivot open at an angle relative to the sealed position of the pallet when the pressure on the sealed side of the pressure vacuum relief valve falls below a minimum pressure threshold.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards a venting hatch having a base configured to couple to a storage container, wherein the base comprises a central opening configured to be exposed to an opening of the storage container, a cap coupled to the base, a seal disposed between the base and the cap, and an actuating mechanism configured to exert a biasing force on the seal to bias the seal against an annular lip of the base, wherein the actuating mechanism is disposed on an exterior surface of the cap.
