A combined sewer/enclosure overflow (CSO) sensor system is described for accurate detection and measurement of overflow events. From the combined data, trending information can determine if there is debris accumulation. Rain masks can be used in the trending data to measure overall health. External sensors in combination with the CSO sensors provide predictive information and additional levels of information/data accuracy. The sensor system automatically and remotely monitors CSO locations and provides real-time data regarding start times, stop times, duration, and flow volumes of overflows that occur in these structures and provide regulatory and public notification of these events.

Detection and monitoring system for the management of combined sewer systems

Many environments or operational conditions create repetitive radio frequency (RF) interference conditions resulting from repetitive mechanical or electrical activity. This activity may create oscillations in the RF conditions between an MTC UE and a serving base station. Aspects of the present invention are directed to improving data efficiency and battery life by optimizing communication based on a detected periodicity of repetitive mechanical or electrical activity at the UE by monitoring the oscillations of at least one RF condition between the MTC UE and the base station, and scheduling communication between the UE and the network during periods associated with favorable radio conditions.

Described are various mechanisms and techniques for influencing or controlling a content update schedule for a content-based software application on a mobile device. A content server issues one or more commands to the mobile device that establish a content update schedule for the mobile device. The mobile device then performs content update sessions with the content server based on that schedule. During any one or more refresh sessions, the content server delivers another command to establish a new content update schedule. This system provides the advantage of allowing the content server to regulate how frequently the mobile device retrieves new content.
