A system and method for jetting a viscous material includes an electronic controller and a jetting dispenser operatively coupled with the electronic controller. The jetting dispenser includes an outlet orifice and a piezoelectric actuator operatively coupled with a movable shaft. The jetting dispenser is under control of the electronic controller for causing said piezoelectric actuator to move the shaft and jet an amount of the viscous material from the outlet orifice. The electronic controller sends a waveform to the piezoelectric actuator to optimize control of the jetting operation.

Piezoelectric jetting system and method

A fluid dispenser includes a dispenser body including an actuator, a fluid body housing, and a fluid body. The fluid body housing is coupled to the dispenser body at one end and releasably coupled to the dispenser body at another end, such that the fluid body housing is pivotable between a first position in which the fluid body housing is coupled to the dispenser body at both ends and a second position in which the fluid body housing is decoupled from the dispenser body at the other end. The fluid body includes a fluid inlet and a dispensing valve. The fluid body is at least partly retained in the fluid body housing when the fluid body housing is in the first position and is removable from the fluid body housing when the fluid body housing is in the second position.

Piezoelectric jetting system with quick release jetting valve

A jetting dispenser includes an actuator with a piezoelectric unit that lengthens by a first distance in response to an applied voltage, and an amplifier operatively coupled to the piezoelectric unit. The amplifier includes first and second ends and the second end moves through a second distance, larger than the first distance under the applied voltage. First and second springs are positioned on opposite sides of the piezoelectric unit. The springs are coupled to the piezoelectric unit in a manner that maintains the piezoelectric unit under constant compression. A fluid body includes a movable shaft operatively coupled with the second end of the amplifier and includes a fluid bore and an outlet orifice. The movable shaft is moved by the second end of the amplifier under the applied voltage and jets an amount of fluid from the fluid bore through the outlet orifice.

Piezoelectric jetting system and method with amplification mechanism

Jetting dispensers and methods for jetting droplets of fluid material are disclosed. A jetting dispenser may include a fluid module and a plunger. A fluid module includes a fluid body member having within it a fluid body bore, and a nozzle having a dispensing opening. A plunger has a distal tip end surface that opposes and is complementary to a nozzle element surface of the nozzle adapted is moveable between a retracted position spaced from the dispensing opening and a forward position proximate to but spaced from the nozzle. At least one droplet of fluid material is jetted from the dispensing opening as the plunger moves from the retracted position to the forward position. The plunger is stopped prior to contacting the nozzle, so wear is lessoned and fluid material containing particles may be dispensed.

Jetting dispenser, and a method for jetting droplets of fluid material

A jetting dispenser including an actuator housing, an actuator, a fluid body housing, and a fluid body. The actuator is located in the actuator housing and the fluid body housing is coupled to the actuator housing. The fluid body is coupled to the fluid body housing and includes a fluid inlet in communication with a fluid bore. The fluid body further includes a jetting valve having a movable shaft operatively coupled with the actuator when the fluid body housing is coupled to the actuator housing. The shaft is moved by the actuator to jet an amount of fluid from the fluid bore. The fluid body is capable of being removed from the fluid body housing when the fluid body housing is decoupled from the actuator housing.

A fluid dispensing apparatus includes an actuator body with an actuator and a valve stem coupled for movement with the actuator, and a fluid body having a fluid chamber capable of fluid communication with an outlet. The valve stem is adapted to extend from the actuator body into the fluid chamber for dispensing fluid from the fluid chamber through the outlet. A quick connect member is provided to selectively fully engage and disengage a first coupling element on the actuator body with a second coupling element on the fluid body, to connect and disconnect the actuator body and the fluid body with respect to each other. The quick connect member advantageously connects or disconnects these bodies without requiring disassembly or dismounting of the bodies from other elements associated with the fluid dispensing apparatus, with a simple manual movement such as a sliding linear continuous movement.

Dispensing apparatus and methods utilizing quick connect member to secure fluid body and actuator body

An adhesive dispensing module and method of spraying a plurality of droplets of a liquid adhesive includes a dispenser assembly and a nozzle. The nozzle includes a nozzle body, a dispersion baffle, and at least one channel. The nozzle body includes a nozzle outlet for discharging a liquid adhesive and at least partially defines a gas inlet, a gas outlet, and a gas passage extending therebetween. The dispersion baffle is positioned within the gas passage to define a dispersion chamber and a consolidation chamber. The at least one channel extends through the dispersion baffle to fluidly connect the dispersion chamber to the consolidation chamber to restrict the pressurized gas received within the dispersion chamber and distribute the pressurized gas into the consolidation chamber according to a predetermined flow distribution. Thereby, the pressurized gas sprays a plurality of droplets of the liquid adhesive according to a predetermined pattern.
