A flashlight is provided comprising a LED illumination source, a power source electrically coupled to said LED illumination source, and a solid body encapsulating the power source and at least a portion of the LED illumination source. The invention further includes an underwater illumination system comprising a glove having an interior, an inner surface, and an outer surface, and an underwater flashlight comprising a LED illumination source, a power source electrically coupled to the LED illumination source, a solid body encapsulating the power source and at least a portion of the LED illumination source, and a securing member for connecting the underwater flashlight to said glove. A method for making an underwater, pressure-resistant LED flashlight is provided for making an encapsulating solid body for the elements providing illumination.

A small needle tip cover is provided which is capable of rendering a used disposable needle safe from accidental punctures. The needle tip cover can take the form of a small rectangular piece of sheet metal that is bent back upon itself. The bend is shaped to provide a spring means which is operable to force the opposing sides of the cover together. The inner surfce of each side includes a plurality of serrated burrs which contact the shaft of a used needle and prevent the tip thereof from escaping. The needle tip cover is kept open by a collapsible column. Until the introduction of a used needle tip therebetween, the column is subject to failure from any slight transverse force, such as that provided by the shaft of the needle pressing there against.

The present invention entails a system and method of controlling and preventing the spread of land fires and particularly forest fires. This is accomplished by forming a substantial foam strip along an area spaced from the fire, and back burning from the foam strip towards the fire or fire area. To form the foam strip, the present invention discloses the method of dropping foam containing containers from an aircraft in a selected pattern along the strip area designated. The foam containers are provided with valves that open approximately on impact or at a selected time thereafter to cause the release of the foam.

System and method of controlling and preventing the spread of forest

Hard, grating cheese is prepared by a process wherein large masses of curd are assembled, pressed and cured, and wherein the step of brining used in prior art processes is eliminated. In the process, salt is added to milled curd particles having a pH below about 5.1 and fermentable sugars substantially metabolized, the salted curd particles are pressed while withdrawing whey until the curd has moisture content desired in the finished cheese and the curd is cured for a period sufficient to provide hard grating cheese. Since brining is eliminated and the desired moisture content is established prior to curing, the hard grating cheese has substantially no moisture gradient. Consequently, the cheese can be shredded in about 2 to 6 months.

Hard grated cheese is comminuted to provide a grated cheese product. The grated cheese product is then subjected to pressure to provide a compact of grated cheese which may be readily packaged and stored. The compact is easily crumbled by hand to provide a grated cheese product for use when desired.

An upstanding support affixed to the floor of a plant adjacent an electric-arc furnace and having a truss member rotatably attached thereto. The truss member at its free end has a vertical support member rotatably attached thereto and upstanding therefrom. The vertical support at its upper end has affixed thereto a radius arm member. The radius arm has the same radius of curvature as the roof lining of the electric-arc furnace. A refractory spraying unit is attached to, and is movable back and forth along the length of, the radius arm. When the roof of the electric-arc furnace is swung outwardly of the furnace between heats, the truss is swung about the upstanding support to carry the vertical support and radius arm directly beneath the furnace roof. Rotation of the radius arm and movement of the spraying unit along the length of the radius arm causes the roof lining to be coated with refractory.
