A gate latch includes a bracket that has flanges with a plurality of holes for receiving fasteners that enable the bracket to be mounted to a bracket mounting surface. The bracket has a raised portion joined with the flanges and cooperates with the bracket mounting surface to define a space therebetween. The latch also includes a latch arm having an end portion thereof pivotally joined with the raised portion and capable of limited pivotal movement relative to the bracket. The latch arm is received in the space between the raised portion and the mounting surface when the bracket is secured to the mounting surface. The latch further includes a catch to be mounted to a catch mounting surface adjacent to the bracket and the latch arm. The catch includes a latch arm receiving region and a movable lock.

Gate latch

A door handle assembly comprises a handle mount having an opening therethrough and a manually engageable handle rotatable about an axis, the axis aligned with the opening positioning structure is fixed relative to the handle mount. The positioning structure has a plurality of locking regions defined by locking surfaces, the locking regions being spaced at predefined distances from the axis. A pair of mounting studs, are adapted to extend through an associated pair of apertures in a door. The mounting studs have lock surfaces that are engageable with the spaced locking surfaces of the positioning structure to enable the elongated mounting studs to be selectively fixed relative to the positioning structure at desired predetermined distances from the axis.

Door handle assembly

A door comprising a laminated panel having a peripheral frame defining the peripheral edge thereof. The laminated panel comprises an outer skin of thermoplastic material impregnated with opaque pigmentation and an inner substrate intimately bonded with the outer skin. The inner substrate is formed of a relatively rigid thermoplastic material impregnated with a filler. The outer skin defines a three dimensional door surface which presents the texture and at least a part of the color of the exterior appearance of the door in use. A method of making the door includes the steps of coextruding the molten material of the outer skin and the molten material of the inner substrate to obtain an intimately bonded laminated continuous sheet, cutting the continuous sheet into blanks, heating a blank to cover the surface of a vacuum forming die having a die surface defining a three dimensional exterior configuration of one surface of the panel and vacuum forming the laminated sheet at a temperature rendering the substrate pliable and near liquid with the outer skin in engagement with the die surface to form a relatively rigid door panel when cooled. After trimming the vacuum formed panel, a door can be formed from the panel by applying the metal trim frame to the periphery of the panel. The laminated panel and peripheral frame can be used as a closet door or the like. A two sided door can be formed by mounting two spaced panels on a peripheral frame and injecting a foamed plastic material impregnated with a filler in the space defined by the panels and the peripheral frame.

A panel door comprises a rectangular panel, a pair of metallic stiles and a pair of metallic rails. The edge portions of the panel are received in the stiles and rails, and corner connectors join the ends of the stiles and rails. The stiles and rails are each integrally formed of sheet metal with front, rear, outer and inner faces, and the front faces are of greater transverse dimension than the rear faces. The rear walls of the stiles and rails are, prior to insertion of the panel thereinto, inclined towards the front walls and are resiliently deflected upon insertion of the panel to provide a biasing force to seat the panel snugly in channels formed between the front and rear walls.

A panel door has a generally rectangular panel which is seated in a frame provided by opposed pairs of integrally formed gasketless door stile and rail elements. Each frame element has an outer wall, a front wall, and a rear wall. The juncture of the rear wall and the outer wall of the aluminum extrusions is configured to enable resilient deflection of the rear wall relative to the outer wall, and the front and rear walls form a channel therebetween to receive the edge portion of the panel. Corner connectors couple the ends of the stiles and rails. The resiliently deflectable rear walls bear upon the rear surface of the panel and press it against the front wall to securely seat it in the channels.

An synthetic resin frame for displaying a rectangular element has an arcuately contoured portion and a cross section providing an outer peripheral wall, an intermediate body portion and an inner peripheral wall extending substantially parallel to the outer peripheral wall and circumscribing an enclosure with an arcuately contoured peripheral portion. The base surface of the inner peripheral wall is disposed in a first plane spaced above a second plane defined by the base surface of the outer peripheral wall, and ribs on the body portion are spaced about the periphery of the frame with their base surfaces disposed in a third plane intermediate the first and second planes. These ribs define a rectangular enclosure spaced outwardly of the arcuately contoured enclosure and in which the rectangular element is seated.

A track assembly for a bi-fold door comprises a guide track having an elongated flat base, a pair of sides, and a pivot bracket. The outer edge of each side of the track is inwardly directed toward the base and defines a channel therein. A pair of runners extending from the pivot bracket provides means for reinforcing a portion of the guide track and reduces track vulnerability to deformation caused by lateral forces.

A wheel retainer prevents a wheel of a sliding or bypass door from jumping off of the floor track on which the wheel rolls. Portions are provided on the lower portion of the retainer for slidably engaging a downwardly facing portion of the track for inhibiting upward movement of the retainer from the track. Preferably this in the form of an L-shaped hook having a base wider than the opening of a dovetail slot in the track and a neck narrower than the opening of the slot. The retainer can then be installed only by pivoting the retainer relative to the track for inserting the hook. The retainer also has portions for engaging an upper portion of the wheel to prevent it from being lifted from the track. The preferred embodiment is a D-shape with an arcuate portion over the top of the wheel and barbs that prevent the retainer from accidentally being dislodged from the wheel.
