Disclosed are methods and systems for spectral imaging of soybean samples to accurately and non-destructively measure the amount of sucrosyl-oligosaccharide in the soybean samples. Populations containing modified and unmodified soybean seeds and having varying amounts of sucrosyl-oligosaccharides, oil or protein can be sorted and separated and further used in soybean processing or breeding.

Non-destructive assay for soybean seeds using near infrared analysis

Soybean plants producing soybean seeds comprising leghemoglobin are produced by modifying the genome of the soybean plant. Soybean plants, soybean seeds and soy protein compositions comprising leghemoglobin are provided. Soybean plants, soybean seeds and soy protein compositions comprising leghemoglobin and additionally one or more of high oleic acid, low linolenic acid, high protein, low stachyose, low raffinose and low protease inhibitors are provided. Protein compositions comprising leghemoglobin, such as soy isolates and concentrates can be made from the soybean seeds. Additionally, methods for generating and using plants, seeds and protein compositions comprising leghemoglobin are disclosed.

Disclosed are compositions and methods relating to lecithin obtained from high-oleic soybeans. The high-oleic lecithin imparts improved characteristics to a product when compared to lecithin obtained from commodity soybeans. Examples of improved characteristics may include one or more of increased effective release, increased oxidative stability, increased OSI induction time, increased shelf life, increased smoke point, and a reduction in the increase in viscosity induced by oxidation or heat.

This invention relates to polynucleotide sequences encoding SUT2 or SUT4 sucrose transporter genes. Methods for increasing seed oil content and evaluating increased oil content in a plant seed are described. The compositions and methods disclosed herein employ a variety of sequences that encode sucrose transporters and a variety of sequences that influence fatty acid accumulation, including for example, DGAT, Lec1 and ODP1 transcription factor. In specific embodiments, overexpression of SUT2 and/or SUT4 sucrose transporters in combination with DGAT genes further increase plant seed oil production compared to high oil plant comprising recombinant DNA constructs that do not overexpress SUT2 or SUT4 transporters.

This invention relates to polynucleotide sequences encoding SUT2 or SUT4 sucrose transporter genes. Methods for increasing seed oil content and evaluating increased oil content in a plant seed are described. The compositions and methods disclosed herein employ a variety of sequences that encode sucrose transporters and a variety of sequences that influence fatty acid accumulation, including for example, DGAT, Lec1 and ODP1 transcription factor. A recombinant DNA construct comprising a polynucleotide encoding an ODP1 polypeptide operably linked to a sucrose synthase 2 promoter where this construct can be used to increase oil content in the seeds of a cruciferous oilseed plant while maintaining normal germination is disclosed. A method for increasing oil content in the seeds of a cruciferous oilseed plant while maintaining normal germination using this construct is also disclosed.

A device is disclosed for dispensing pourable materials packaged in a pail or bulk container. The device comprising: a) a container holder comprising an angled shelf, a spring loaded locking clasp, a pair of support bands and a catch plate to support and hold the pail or bulk container in position when the device is in either the loading or dispensing position, b) locking catches to maintain the dispenser in an upright position allowing the pail or bulk container to be loaded into the dispenser; c) a base plate, on which the dispenser pivots and which is shaped so as to hold the dispenser in a rigid position on a mounting surface, such as a counter top or other flat surface, wherein the base plate comprises a locking device that tightens onto the surface to hold the dispenser in position, alternatively the base plate may be fitted with non-slip feet that prevent the device from moving during use, d) means to release the locking catches, e) means to pivot the dispenser forward so that the bulk container is in a horizontal position for dispensing the product.
