An integrated mirror/display assembly includes a flip down display integrated with a rearview mirror. The mirror may be mounted to the display and the mirror/display is movable on a pivot between a retracted non-viewing position during normal vehicle operation and an extended viewing position when the vehicle is not in an operating mode.

Mirror/display assembly

The in-vehicle gaming system is comprised of vehicle controls that are adapted to provide both vehicle control during a normal driving mode and game control inputs during a gaming mode. At least one of the controls is selectively disengaged from the vehicle control during the gaming mode. A display provides an indication to the driver of the game environment in response to the game control inputs.

In-vehicle gaming system

An embodiment of a body for a vehicle includes a plurality of interconnected, formed panels including a rear suspension mounting portion, a bulkhead, a floor pan and a front suspension mounting portion. The body further includes a unitary tubular support member extending from the front suspension mounting portion to the bulkhead. At least a portion of the support member is positioned above the floor pan.

Vehicle backbone

A rumble seat for increasing passenger capacity of a motor vehicle by at least one occupant includes a combination seat back frame and roll bar moveable between a retracted position and an extended position. The combination seat back frame and roll bar can be selectively operated for carrying at least one additional passenger when in the extended position, while providing a substantially uninterrupted exterior motor vehicle contour when in the retracted position. A track mechanism and a plurality of rotatable elongate linkages can be provided for guiding movement of the combination seat back frame and roll bar between the retracted and extended positions. The track mechanism can include a guide track having an L-shaped configuration with an upper horizontally extending segment and a lower vertically extending segment.

A vehicle door and hinging is described that allow for the door of a vehicle to be translated forward and rotated upward upon being opened in order to improve occupant ingress and egress. In addition, the doors and hinges of embodiments of the present invention allow for the door to be translated slightly outward for increased body panel clearance. In one embodiment of the present invention, a door has a four bar link hinge where the first and second pivots of a first bar of the four bar link hinge each allow for a single degree of motion. The pivot points are not co-axial and allow the door to translate vertically and horizontally. A second bar has first and second pivot points that each allow for three degrees of rotation to allow for the vertical and horizontal translation of the door member when actuated.

Automotive door hinge

The disclosure relates to vehicles and door sills for vehicles. In one aspect, the disclosure relates to door sills having an interior channel configured to receive a retractable panel installed within a vehicle door. In another aspect, the disclosure relates to impact-absorbing door sills for motor vehicles, for example, an automobile. The disclosure also provides methods for forming a shaped composite article from a metal foam and attaching the shaped composite article to a side frame of a vehicle chassis.

Vehicle door sill

The disclosure relates to a detachable windshield for a vehicle. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to a detachable windshield for a motor vehicle such as an automobile, in particular an automobile having an engine compartment positioned forward of a passenger compartment. In one embodiment, a vehicle includes a detachable windshield, at least one structural member, and a plurality of releasable fasteners that attach the detachable windshield to the structural member. The windshield may be detached upon release of the fasteners. In another embodiment, a method includes placing a detachable windshield onto at least one structural member of a vehicle, and securing the detachable windshield to the structural member with a plurality of releasable fasteners. In a further embodiment, a vehicle includes means for viewing an outside area from within a vehicle, means for supporting the viewing means, and means for securing the viewing means to the supporting means.

Detachable windshield

A door of a motor vehicle has a substantially rigid sheet that extends downwardly from a lower edge of the door. The sheet may be opaque, translucent, or transparent. The sheet may be fixed in the extended position or may be selectively retractable and extendable.

A vehicle cargo rack is provided with a sill connected to the vehicle, at least one rotatable joint mounted on the sill, and at least one arm coupled to the at least one joint and configured to hold cargo.

A vehicle cargo rack is provided with a carrier member and a carrier positioning device for positioning the carrier member. The carrier member is positionable in at least a deployed position and a stored position.
