A display system is provided for a vehicle. The display system includes a data source configured to provide terrain data with detached objects that are detached from ground terrain and attached objects that are attached to ground terrain; a processing unit coupled to the data source configured to receive the terrain data and to distinguish the detached objects from the attached objects to generate display commands for a three-dimensional view that comprises graphical elements representing both the detached objects and the attached objects; and a display device coupled to the processing unit and configured to receive the display commands and operable to render the common three-dimensional view to thereby allow viewing of the detached objects and the attached objects.

Synthetic vision systems and methods for displaying detached objects

A display system is provided for a vehicle. The system includes a first data source configured to provide low resolution terrain data; a second data source configured to provide high resolution terrain data; a processing unit coupled to the first data source and the second data source, the processing unit configured to receive the low resolution terrain data and high resolution terrain data, to integrate the low resolution terrain data and the high resolution terrain data into a common three-dimensional view that includes graphical elements representing both the low and the high resolution terrain data, and to supply display commands associated with the low and the high resolution terrain data; and a display device coupled to the processing unit and configured to receive the display commands and operable to render the common three-dimensional view to thereby allow simultaneous viewing of the low and the high resolution terrain data.

Systems and methods for displaying images with multi-resolution integration

A display interface device and method for an individual personal computer, workstation, or embedded system comprising one or more display interfaces; a video library; and driving any one of a plurality of video displays of a plurality of types connected to the one or more display interfaces from output of the video library. OpenGL is a preferred API. Driving of hybrid displays as well as stroke displays using formats designed for raster displays (such as VAPS) is also provided for. Multiple and hybrid graphics display types

The present invention is a computer system and method for facilitating communication between a primary software program on a computer and at least one secondary software program loaded on a computer circuit card via a communications bus. Both the primary software program and the secondary software program have predefined register storage space for storing data, and in particular, for storing data relating to system and fault status, among other things. The primary software program communicates, direct and controls the data between itself and among the various secondary software programs by interaction between the predefined registers. The primary software program communicates, direct and controls the data through the use of common headers present in the registers.
