Pocket knife

A pocket knife includes a chassis and an insert engaged with the chassis, wherein the insert defines an insert surface. A blade has a retracted position in which the blade is inside of the chassis and a deployed position in which at least a portion of the blade is outside of the chassis. An actuator is slidingly engaged with the chassis to reposition the blade between the retracted and deployed positions. A lock is pivotally connected to the chassis and engaged with the blade in the deployed position to lock the blade in the deployed position. A stop pin is connected to the blade, and an end of the stop pin extends a predetermined distance from the blade to engage with the insert surface when the blade is in the deployed position to prevent movement of the blade with respect to the chassis.

A folding knife includes first and second scales and a blade having a tang and a cutting edge. The tang pivotally connects the blade between the first and second scales. The blade has a retracted position with the cutting edge between the first and second scales and a deployed position with the cutting edge outside the first and second scales. An actuator between the first and second scales has a first position that locks the blade in the deployed position and a second position that allows movement of the blade between the deployed and retracted positions. A spring is in compression with the actuator between the first and second scales so that the spring biases the actuator toward the tang of the blade. A detent in the actuator engages with the tang when the actuator is in the first position and the blade is in the deployed position.

A folding knife includes a handle, a first liner inside the handle, and a second liner inside the handle and opposed to the first liner. A blade has a tang and a cutting edge, and the tang of the blade pivotally connects the blade between the first and second liners. The blade has a retracted position in which the cutting edge is inside the handle and a deployed position in which the cutting edge is outside the handle. An actuator is at least partially between the first and second liners, and a spring is between the first and second liners and in compression against the actuator so that the spring biases the actuator toward the tang of the blade.

A blade has a tang and a cutting edge, and the tang of the blade pivotally connects the blade between the first and second liners. The blade has a retracted position in which the cutting edge is inside the handle and a deployed position in which the cutting edge is outside the handle. An actuator is at least partially between the first and second liners. A screw inside the handle has a first end opposed to a second end. The first end of the screw is engaged with the first liner, and the second end of the screw is threadingly engaged with the second liner.
