A urine-sampling system for aseptic urine sampling includes a catheter assembly and a sampling-port access device. The catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter, drainage tubing, and a connector fluidly connecting the urinary catheter to the drainage tubing. The connector includes a urine-sampling port. The sampling-port access device includes a tip at an end of a barrel configured to fluidly connect the sampling-port access device to the urine-sampling port of the catheter assembly. Each of the tip of the sampling-port access device and the urine-sampling port has a complementary fastening means for—fastening to the other of the tip of the sampling-port access device and the urine-sampling port. Each of the complementary fastening means ensures proper mating of the tip of the sampling-port access device and the urine-sampling port for aseptic urine sampling. In addition to various urine-sampling systems such as the foregoing, methods of use are also disclosed.

Systems for aseptic urine sampling and methods thereof

A catheterization package including a catheterization tray and contents for a catheterization procedure. The catheterization tray can include a structural configuration for maintaining a sterile field about a patient throughout the catheterization procedure, the sterile field including at least a portion of the tray. The structural configuration of the tray can provide a sterile side of the tray designated for a first person performing sterile steps of the catheterization procedure in the sterile field. Catheter insertion-tray systems and methods thereof

A catheterization system including a catheter, drainage bag and one or more indicators configured to measure an attribute relating to the usage of the catheter system and communicate information about the attribute to a network, such as an EMR database. The indicators may include a location indicator, a duration indicator, an elevation indicator, a tamper indicator, a dependent loop indicator, a floor contact indicator, and a patient securement indicator. The system may autonomously detect and record one or more attributes relating to the usage of the catheter system.

The medical procedure or catheterization package and/or medical procedure or catheterization tray may include various implements, compartments, and components necessary and/or helpful to the medical procedure or catheterization, including, for example, improved swabs and an improved compartment for holding the swabs.

A securement device includes a retainer having at least one retention member extending into a channel of the retainer. The retention member is coupled to the retainer and includes a distal end. The distal end is movable relative to the retainer. The retention member can extend from the body and/or supports of the retainer on opposite sides of the channel axis. In some embodiments, a first set of retention members extends from a first support and a second set of retention members extends from the other support. The first set and the second set of retention members can be staggered laterally along the channel axis such that the lateral sides of the retainer are asymmetric which allow the same retainer to secure medical article having different shapes and sizes. The retainer may further include one or more abutment features or pills configured to contact the medical article.
