An information handling system coupled in rails of a rack enclosure is secured in place by a latch managed by a handle coupled to opposing sides of the information handling system housing and disposed across a front face of the housing. When the latch is locked, the handle rotates up and down at the housing front face to offer end user access to components of the information handling system. A latch actuator in the handle unlocks the latch by engaging a cam lock in a pivot plate so that rotation of the handle translates to the pivot plate to release the housing for movement on the rails.

An information handling system bay accepts plural communication carriers having storage communication support, such as in compliance with OCP3.0. The communication carrier has a support structure to support processing components, such as a network interface controller coupled to a printed circuit board, and coupled within the bay by a latch having a member extending from one end to engage the bay housing and latching an opposite chamfered end with a pin coupled to a spring loaded button. A press on the button away from the latch releases the chamfered end from the pin so support structure member is free from the housing bay to remove the communication carrier.

A dynamic information tag is disclosed for performing a dynamic information tag operation. The dynamic information tag includes a tag housing, the tag housing being sized to fit within a recess of an information handling system configured for receipt of a static information tag; a control and connection portion; and, a display coupled to the control and connection portion, the display being controlled via the control and connection portion to present information handling system information.

A handle assembly may include a base, a handle rotably coupled to the base via a hinge, the handle comprising a lock integral to the handle and mechanically coupled to a remainder of the handle via a spring having a spring force that biases the lock in a locked position relative to the handle. The base may include a mechanical retention feature for receiving and mechanically retaining an information handling resource. The base may also include one or more features configured to, as the handle is translated into a closed position relative to the base, mechanically engage with the lock to overcome the spring force that biases the lock in a locked position and allows the lock to return to the locked position in order to maintain the handle in the closed position.

A drive carrier for a device of an information handling system includes first and second portions. The first and second portions are placed in physical communication with the device. The first portion includes first and second side rails to secure the device within the drive carrier. The first and second side rails slide within a first slot of a bay of the information handling system. The second portion is located on top of the first portion and floats away from and toward the first portion when the drive carrier is inserted with the bay of the information handling system. An amount of float for the second portion is based on a bay pitch of the bay.

A dynamic information tag is disclosed for performing a dynamic information tag operation. The dynamic information tag includes a tag housing, the tag housing being sized to fit within a recess of an information handling system configured for receipt of a static information tag; a control and connection portion; and, a display coupled to the control and connection portion, the display being controlled via the control and connection portion to present information handling system information, the information handling system information comprising dynamic branding information.

A baffle is provided that is usable in an information handling system. The information handling system may have a first compartment at a first elevated pressure that is higher than an ambient pressure and a second compartment at a second elevated pressure that is higher than the ambient pressure. Further, a region adjacent to the first and second compartments and in fluid communication therewith may be operable to receive a removable baffle therein. When the baffle is inserted into the region, it may be operable to maintain the region at a third elevated pressure that is higher than the ambient pressure. However, when not inserted into the region, the baffle may be foldable into a substantially flat shape.

A portable or modular cooling system is operated via the power-over-Ethernet (PoE) standard. The cooling system receives electrical power via an Ethernet connection to a source device (such as a server, switch, or other PoE-enabled equipment). The cooling system may thus be used to spot-inject cooler ambient air in the vicinity of the source device without the need for grid electric and for cumbersome electrical wiring.

A multi device system includes a rack with a rack slot. A device chassis is positioned in the rack slot. The device chassis includes first device slot with a first device entrance, and a second device slot with a second device entrance. A first device stop member extends from the device chassis and into the first device slot. The distance between the first device stop member and the first device entrance is adjustable, and the first device stop member is configured to move a first device in the first device slot through the first device entrance. A second device stop member extends from the device chassis and into the second device slot. The distance between the second device stop member and the second device entrance is adjustable, and the second device stop member is configured to move a second device in the second device slot through the second device entrance.

A switch includes a switch chassis that houses a heat producing component. A plurality of side walls are located on the switch chassis and define a chassis perimeter. A top wall extends between the plurality of side walls and defines a top wall perimeter vent adjacent the chassis perimeter. A bottom wall extends between the plurality of side walls, is located opposite the switch chassis from the top wall, and defines a bottom wall perimeter vent adjacent the chassis perimeter. A plurality of feet are located on the bottom wall and provide an air gap between the switch chassis and a support surface when the plurality of feet engage the support surface. In response to the heat producing component generating heat, fresh air is drawn in through the air gap and the bottom wall perimeter vent, and heated air flows through the top wall perimeter vent.

A rack system includes a rack base defining a plurality of device slots. A rack wall on the rack base defines a rack volume adjacent a first device slot. A rack volume device coupling system is located in the rack volume and includes a rack volume base positioned in the rack volume. A rack tray is moveably coupled to the rack volume base and configured to move from a first orientation where the rack tray is located in the rack tray housing, to a second orientation where the rack tray extends from the rack volume and into the first device slot. A device is then moved through the first device slot and into the rack tray when the rack tray is in the second orientation. The rack tray is then moved from the second orientation and into the first orientation such that the device is located in the rack volume.
