A drive assembly is provided suitable for aiding in the conversion of wave energy to useful energy. The drive assembly of the present invention is arranged to transfer wave energy to an energy converter, the drive assembly comprising, an actuating member having an actuating length. The drive assembly further comprises a movable energy transfer member arranged to be coupled to an energy converter and arranged to transfer energy from the actuating member to said energy converter. The drive assembly further comprises an energy storing member comprising a biasing member coupled to one or more of: the actuating member, the energy transfer member; the energy storing member being arranged to cause the actuating member or the energy transfer member to move position. The actuating member is arranged to move the energy transfer member from a first stroke position to a second stroke position; and the first stroke position and the second stroke position define distal end points of a working stroke; the working stroke arranged so as to drive said energy converter.

Braking system includes a brake, first valve that actuates the brake based on user input, second valve configured to selectively actuate the brake, and valve actuation system including a user input device moveable between first and second positions. A brake sensor provides a signal indicative of actuation of the first valve. The valve actuation system activates the second valve if the user input device is in the first position and the first valve engaged, retaining the second valve in active state if the first valve is disengaged, deactivating the second valve if the user input device is in the second position.

The present disclosure relates to a vehicle having a braking system and a method of engaging the braking system. The braking system engages a brake mechanism as a waiting brake. The vehicle has a dual function device which is configured such that when the dual function device is activated when the vehicle transmission system is in a drive mode, the transmission system is maintained in that drive mode, and when the dual function device is activated when the transmission system is in the neutral mode, the brake mechanism is engaged.
