A doll includes a plush doll body having a movable head. A body housing within the doll body supports a control and sound circuit which is operatively coupled to a bidirectional motor drive system operative to move the head from side-to-side. A mouth moving mechanism is independently provided within the doll head. The body housing supports a pair of outwardly facing microphones on the right and left side of the housing to detect sound from either side. The control and sound circuit compares the sound energy received by the right side and left side microphones and determines the appropriate direction to pivot or rotate the head to simulate a &ldquo;listening&rdquo; attention by the doll.

Talking doll having head movement responsive to external sound

A record engraving apparatus having a table with a vacuum source for retaining thereon a master lacquer with portions thereon having pre-recorded disc-shaped record portions. The rotatable table is precisely positionable in all directions of the plane of the table as well as in orthogonal directions, and includes provision for mounting the master lacquer with the center thereof in one of at least two locations depending on the center of the record portions relative to the master lacquer. A vertically adjustable arm is provided with a turret head having thereon a plurality of heated sapphire cutters of different sizes, each of which may be indexed into position. The arm is adjustable in a direction orthogonal to the plane of the table to provide variations in depths of cuts.

Record engraving apparatus

A tubular member holds a paper, tubular fuselage above a paper wing supported by a plate and below a folding die from which a fuselage presser depends; whereby the fuselage may be attached to the wing and the edges of the wing may be folded into an aerodynamic configuration when the die and tubular member are brought into working association with a pair of upstanding plates which are spaced apart in a manner such that the fuselage and its associated parts may be positioned between said plates while said die folds the wing edges over the upper edges of the plates.
