The invention provides a conductivity control agent comprised of a polymeric material containing diphosphonium bis(sulfoarylcarbonyloxy) glycol salts as conductivity control agent. The conductivity control agents can be used with semi-conductive rolls, belts and other biasable members. The inclusion of the conductivity control agent in the polymeric or polyurethane elastomers extends the electrical life of the polymeric biasable member in low humidity environments. Additionally, the resistivity of the elastomeric polymer on the biasable member is controlled to a desirable value by adjusting the conductivity control agent level in the elastomers.

The conductivity control agents can be used with semi-conductive rolls, belts and other biasable members. Toner formulations and developers containing the toner formulations are described. The toner contains at least one toner resin, at least one first charge control agent capable of providing a consistent level of charge, at least one second charge control agent capable of providing a sustained level of charge, at least one surface treatment agent, and at least one release agent and optionally at least one colorant. The toners of the present invention preferably provide a consistent level of charge of from about &minus;10 to about &minus;30 micro C/gm and also provide this level of charge for a sustained period of time, such as from about 2 to about 10 minutes. The toners of the present invention also provides excellent ruboff values for an image printed from the toners of the present invention. Methods of improving ruboff are described as well as methods to develop an image using the toner of the present invention.

A process for forming non-spherical toner particles by limited coalescence comprises: forming an organic phase comprising a polymeric material, a pigment, a quaternary ammonium tetraphenylborate salt, a phosphonium salt polymer formed by condensation of at least one dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic ester monomer with at least one diol monomer, at least one of the acid or ester monomers including a triarylphosphonium salt group, and a water-immiscible liquid; dispersing the organic phase in an aqueous phase containing a solid colloidal stabilizer; forming a suspension of small droplets of the organic phase in the aqueous phase by high shear agitation; removing the water-immiscible liquid from the small droplets, thereby forming a suspension of small solid particles in the aqueous phase; and separating and drying the solid particles, which are toner particles having a non-spherical shape.
