A trip control circuit for a circuit breaker which provides for self-diagnostics includes a normally opened trip contact, a tripping circuit, and a signal light in series with the tripping circuit and the trip contact. The trip control circuit also includes a flasher circuit constructed and arranged to provide signaling of an abnormal condition of a circuit breaker to the signal light, while permitting the circuit breaker to trip provided that a cause of the abnormal condition signaled is not one which prevents tripping of the circuit breaker.

Method and structure for monitoring breaker status contacts on circuit breaker applications

A MOC operator structure for a vacuum circuit breaker includes a cam coupled to an operating shaft of the circuit breaker, a follower in engagement with the cam, a first lever coupled with the follower, free-floating spring structure associated with the first lever, a second lever, a linkage structure coupled with the second lever and constructed and arranged to be associated with a breaker-panel interface for moving auxiliary switches, and movable cable structure operatively coupled between the first and second levers. The first lever and spring structure are configured such that when the contacts are closed, movement of the cam via the operating shaft drives the first lever to a maximum position compressing the spring structure, prior to any movement of the cable structure, and wherein force of the spring structure moves the cable structure and thus the second lever, causing movement of the linkage structure.

Modular MOC driver and interlock assembly for circuit breaker

A MOC operator structure for a circuit breaker includes linkage structure coupled between the operating mechanism and an interface structure. An armature is associated with the linkage structure. Permanent magnet structure is associated with the circuit breaker and is disposed generally adjacent to the armature. Wherein, when the operating mechanism is coupled with the linkage structure and the operating mechanism moves in a first direction, a portion of the linkage structure moves in a first direction and moves the MOC operator structure to an open position, with the armature being magnetically engaged with permanent magnet structure to maintain the MOC operator structure in the open position. When the portion of the operating mechanism moves in a second direction, the portion of the linkage structure moves in a second direction and moves the MOC operator structure to a closed position, with the armature magnetically disengaging from the permanent magnet structure.

A cradle and a method for adapting a circuit breaker for mounting in a switchgear cabinet having a bus bar system. The cradle includes a frame to which a racking apparatus and a locking apparatus are mounted. The racking apparatus is operable to move the cradle into and out of electrical connection with the bus bar system. The locking apparatus has a first operating state, wherein the locking apparatus prevents the circuit breaker from being disposed in the frame and allows the racking apparatus to operate, and a second operating state, wherein the locking apparatus allows the circuit breaker to be disposed in the frame and prevents the racking apparatus from operating.
