A pumpable resin system for installation of mine roof bolts includes a resin feed pump in fluid communication with a resin source, a catalyst feed pump in fluid communication with a catalyst source, a resin injection cylinder pump in fluid communication with the resin feed pump, with the resin feed pump configured to transfer resin to the resin injection cylinder pump when the resin feed pump is actuated, a catalyst injection cylinder pump in fluid communication with the catalyst feed pump, the catalyst feed pump configured to transfer catalyst to the catalyst injection cylinder pump when the catalyst feed pump is actuated, a hydraulic piston, with the resin injection cylinder pump and the catalyst injection cylinder pump slaved together and controlled by the hydraulic piston, a resin line in fluid communication with the resin injection cylinder pump, and a catalyst line in fluid communication with the catalyst injection cylinder pump.

Pumpable resin system

An adjustable lattice girder includes a first lattice girder portion having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the first lattice girder portion having a first connection member, and a second lattice girder portion having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the second lattice girder portion having a second connection member configured to engage the first connection member. The first connection member is slidable relative to the second connection member between a first position corresponding to a first distance between the second end of the first lattice girder portion and the first end of the second lattice girder portion, and a second position corresponding to a second distance between the second end of the first lattice girder portion and the first end of the second lattice girder portion. The first distance different than the second distance.

A mine bolt bending system includes a frame comprising a plurality of bolt receiving portions each configured to receive and hold a mine roof bolt, a bolt contact member secured to the frame, with the bolt contact member rotatable relative to the frame between a first position and second position, and an actuator secured to the frame, with the actuator configured to move the bolt contact member between the first and second positions. The bolt contact member is configured to bend a mine bolt when rotating from the first position to the second position.

Pumpable two component resin

A mine bolt includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the elongated body having a first threaded section, a second threaded section, and a non-threaded section positioned between the first threaded section and the second threaded section. The non-threaded section is configured to yield under loading when the mine bolt is installed with grout in a bore hole.

Corrosion resistant yieldable bolt

A rock bolt system includes a fitting including a main body defining a central opening configured to receive a rock bolt and a grout body defining a space between the main body and the grout body, with the main body defining a grout opening in fluid communication with the central opening. The main body is rotatable relative to the grout body, with the grout body defining a resin port and a catalyst port. The resin port and the catalyst port are in fluid communication with the space and the grout opening of the main body. The system further includes a rock bolt defining a central opening, with the central opening of the rock bolt configured to be in fluid communication with the central opening of the fitting when the rock bolt is secured to the fitting.

A pumpable resin system for installation of mine roof bolts includes a resin reservoir configured to receive resin, a catalyst reservoir configured to receive catalyst, a resin pump arrangement in fluid communication with the resin reservoir, a catalyst pump arrangement in fluid communication with the catalyst reservoir, a delivery line in fluid communication with at least one of the resin pump arrangement and the catalyst pump arrangement, and a bolter arm configured to drill boreholes and install mine roof bolts. The delivery line is configured to deliver resin and catalyst from the resin reservoir and the catalyst reservoir to a borehole via the bolter arm.

A mine bolt includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, and an anchor comprising a tube defining a central opening and a slot extending at least a portion of the length of the tube. The anchor is secured to the elongated body. The anchor is configured to compress upon installation of the mine bolt to anchor the elongated body within a bore hole.

A rock bolt system includes a fitting having a main body defining a central opening configured to receive a rock bolt, with the main body defining a grout opening in fluid communication with the central opening, and a grout body defining a space between the main body and the grout body. The main body is rotatable relative to the grout body, with the grout body defining a resin port and a catalyst port. The resin port and the catalyst port are in fluid communication with the space and the grout opening of the main body. A rock bolt defines a central opening, with the central opening of the rock bolt configured to be in fluid communication with the central opening of the fitting when the rock bolt is secured to the fitting.

A mine rib support includes first and second elongate members each having a first end and a second end, a center plate having a body defining a first opening that receives the first elongate member, a second opening that receives the second elongate member, and an installation opening configured to receive a mine bolt, a first end plate defining first and second openings for receiving the first end of the first and second elongate members, respectively, and a second end plate defining first and second openings for receiving the second end of the first and second elongate members, respectively.

Rib strap

A mine prop includes a first pipe having a first end and a second end, a second pipe having a first end and a second end, and a yield member secured to the second pipe. The second pipe is slidably received in the first pipe. The yield member is configured to yield before the first and second pipes when the mine prop is placed under a predetermined load.

A steel set assembly includes a first pair of legs and a second pair of legs with the first pair of legs being spaced from and positioned opposite the second pair of legs. First and second beams are provided with the first beam being secured to one leg of the first pair of legs and one leg of the second pair of legs. The second beam is secured to the other leg of the first pair of legs and the other leg of the second pair of legs. A panel is secured to the first and second beams and includes a base having a top surface and a bottom surface, a block having a top surface and a bottom surface, and a pad. The block is secured to the base and the pad is positioned between the top surface of the base and the bottom surface of the block.

A method for designing and fabricating a mine seal includes determining an initial thickness for a mine seal based on a predetermined underground opening, developing and solving a numerical model for response of the mine seal upon application of a blasting pressure, and determining whether the mine seal meets predetermined design criteria. A mine seal having a minimum seal thickness may be fabricated after determining the mine seal meets the predetermined design criteria.

Engineered mine seal

An apparatus for retensioning a loose roof plate held by a roof bolt, includes a main spacer, a washer, and a nut. The main spacer occupies a space between a head of the roof bolt and the loose roof plate, and the main spacer has a threaded circumferential outer surface and a radially extending slot for inserting a shaft of the roof bolt therein. The washer occupies a space between the main spacer and the loose roof plate, and the washer has a radially extending slot for inserting the shaft of the roof bolt therein. The nut has a threaded hole for passing the head of the roof bolt therethrough, for threading onto the threaded spacer and for tightening onto the threaded spacer until the roof plate is firmly pressed against the roof.

Apparatus and method for re-tensioning a loose roof plate in an underground mine

A cable bolt button comprising a continuous sidewall having a first end, a second end and an end portion attached to the first end of the sidewall, forming an inner cavity. The cable bolt button forms an interference fit between the sidewall of the cable bolt button and a cable bolt when the button is placed over the distal end of the cable bolt. The cable bolt button may also include a plurality of protrusions extending outwardly from the end portion away from the inner cavity and/or at least one recess. The protrusions may be separate features of the end portion or the first end of the sidewall may have a non-linear profile with the periphery of the end portion following the profile of the sidewall to form the protrusions and recesses. The end portion may also comprise a plurality of intersecting surfaces further shaping the protrusions and recesses.
