Articles and methods involving detection of binding between two or more species using MALDI are generally provided. In some embodiments, a method comprises exposing a first species to a composition comprising a second species, capturing the first species on a self-assembled monolayer, and performing MALDI on the self-assembled monolayer to generate a signal from the second species and a signal from a standard species present in the self-assembled monolayer. A ratio (first ratio) of the signal from the second species to the signal from the standard species may be compared to a cutoff value in order to determine if binding has occurred. This method may allow determination of a relative affinity of the second species for the first species.

Articles and methods involving detection of binding

A system for contactless testing of radio frequency apertures is provided. The system comprises a fixture having a fixture mount operable to be received in a fixture receiver of a robotic system, and a vector network analyzer ('VNA') supported by the fixture. A radiating antenna is supported by the fixture, and is operable to be connected to the VNA via a cable. Upon movement of the fixture via the robotic system, the VNA, the radiating antenna, and the cable maintain a static positional relationship relative to one another.

System for contactless testing of radio frequency apertures

A system and method for a diffuser muzzle brake. The exhaust ports are upstream of the reaction plate. This allows the deflection and redirection of exhaust gases to reduce recoil. The internal cylinder bore and exhaust ports are manufactured with cost saving methods. The muzzle brake has at least one radial exhaust port pattern. The muzzle brake has at least one longitudinal exhaust port pattern. The muzzle brake has at least one downstream reaction plate.

Method of manufacturing a diffuser muzzle brake

A pool vacuum comprises an elongated pipe section having a flattened debris pickup end and a discharge end for discharging debris into a bag which is removably attached to the pipe section. Intermediate the ends of the elongated pipe section is a larger pipe section which is spaced from and sealed to the elongated pipe section to form a fluid discharge chamber surrounding the elongated pipe section. Apertures are formed between the chamber and the discharge end of the elongated pipe section to direct fluid applied under pressure to the chamber rearwardly through the elongated pipe section. This creates a partial vacuum for causing debris located near the pickup end of the elongated pipe section to be sucked up and directed into the bag whenever fluid under pressure is supplied to the chamber.

Pool vacuum

An electronic pedometer is constructed by a combination of a calculator of the hand-held type and a weighted balance switch closed in response to the strides taken by the person wearing or carrying the pedometer. The stride-actuated switch is connected in parallel with the contacts of a function key of the calculator, such as the 'add' or 'subtract' key. The distance covered by the wearer in a normal stride is entered in a conventional fashion into the calculator by operation of the appropriate data entry keys. Then, each time a step is taken by the user, this data is added or subtracted (in accordance with the function selected by the user) to continuously provide an indication of the distance traveled or distance remaining to be traveled. Alternatively, the calculator may be used to provide a unit count of each step taken and this total then may be multiplied in the calculator by a constant corresponding to the average distance of each step taken by the user.
