A patient monitor system includes a monitor mount, a first monitor, and a second monitor adapted to provide for data and power transfer between the monitors and the mount. The monitor mount may detachably secure the second monitor, and the second monitor can detachably secure (or otherwise physically interface with) the first monitor. The first monitor may be first mounted or otherwise detachably secured to the second monitor to form an expanded monitor system, and the monitor system may be then detectably secured to the monitor mount. Alternatively, the second monitor may be first mounted or otherwise detachably secured to the monitor mount, and the first monitor may be subsequently inserted into or otherwise mounted within a mounting area defined by the second monitor, the monitor mount, or both the second monitor and the monitor mount.

Mounting and locking mechanisms for a patient monitoring system

Systems, methods, devices, and connectors are described herein for a modular patient monitoring medical device. A new generation of physiological measurement devices, such as Intelligent Patient Front End Devices (IPFE) can provide updated algorithms, features, and software updates for parameter measurement devices without corresponding releases of a new version of host monitor software. IPFEs, together with patient sensors, comprise a complete physiological patient parameter measurement delivery system. A number and a type of parameter measurement devices can be configured to meet varied and changing clinical needs. Remote access to versions, logs, self-tests, settings, history, and/or measurements via the Internet to one or more parameter measurement devices can provide a unified service approach. The connector is configured to electrically connect any two or more devices and provides an electrical connection that can be simply physically or tactually confirmed.

Modular patient monitoring medical device and connector

A device and system using same that enables a non-native device to be a self-describing module or communicate in the same protocol as the system protocol for updating data in a medical device and system describing same. In one embodiment, the translation device described herein comprises a processor that converts the non-self-describing protocol (SDP) data into an SDP communication standard and connects to a rack, medical device, a multi-function medical device, or other components within a medical system.

The female housing includes: front and back portions; a pair of longitudinal sides that extend from the front portion to the back portion; a planar side that extends from the front portion to the back portion, the planar side connecting first ends of the pair of longitudinal sides; a rounded side that extends from the front portion to the back portion, the rounded side connecting second ends of the pair of longitudinal sides; a front surface defined at the front portion by the pair of longitudinal sides, the planar side, and the rounded side; and a plurality of sockets formed at the front surface.

Methods and devices for distraction osteogenesis are disclosed employing an energy storage device and a controlled release of energy to provide a separating force. For example, bone expansion devices can include a first anchor element attachable to a first segment of bone, a second anchor element attachable to a second segment of bone, and an actuator for applying a separating force between the first and second anchor elements. The actuator can include a potential energy storage device and a controller for releasing energy from the energy storage device to provide the separating force.
