A light for mounting on an implement is provided. In particular, a light configured to be releasably attached to a firearm is provided. The light includes first and second light elements. A selector switch is operable to select which of the two light elements is energized when a primary switch is actuated.

A keyed mounting arrangement for a light or other object mountable on a mounting rail having a keying feature may comprise a body containing operating elements; a clamping arrangement including clamp members on the body for clamping and releasing the mounting rail; and a keying member removably disposed in a recess located on the body in a predetermined location and having a keying feature that engages the keying feature of the mounting rail when the body is clamped to the mounting rail. Where the object is mountable on mounting rails having keying features of different sizes and shapes, the keying member may be selected from a set of keying members for having a keying feature of a size and shape that corresponds to the size and shape of the keying feature of the mounting rail.

Mountable light

A light may comprise a light body having an opening for receiving an electrical power source, and a head including a light source and having an end for engaging the light body. A head for a light may comprise a light source, a reflector, an end for engaging a light body; and an insulating member. At least three concentric and/or coaxial electrical contacts of the head are enclosed by the head and light body when the head and light body are engaged. One of the three concentric electrical contacts may provide an electrical connection to the light source and one of the three concentric electrical contacts may be for making an electrical connection to an electrical power source.

An electrical circuit structure for a light may comprise: at least first and second circuit portions disposed in different planes; the first circuit portion having a shape corresponding to the shape of a mounting surface adjacent to which it is adapted to be mounted, the first circuit portion having an opening therein for receiving a light source; a light source mounted in the opening of the first circuit portion for receiving electrical energy; and a switch mounted to the second circuit portion for selectively applying electrical energy for selectively energizing the light source.

Mountable light circuit structure

A rechargeable flashlight and charging assembly are provided in which the charger has a receptacle for vertically receiving a flashlight therein. The charger further has a second receptacle for holding an auxiliary battery, and a latch for securely holding the auxiliary battery in the second receptacle. The flashlight is formed to removably contain a battery assembly. A pivotal cover member of the flashlight provides access to the battery compartment and has a pair of conductors situated therein for connection to charging contacts within the charging receptacle.

Rechargeable flashlight and battery charger

A flashlight with a rotatable lamp head is provided. The lamp head pivots about two cylindrical coaxial electrical connectors. The lamp head includes a reflector having a concave curved reflective surface and two lamp elements therein. A focusing ring on the lamp head moves the reflector in the lamp head for adjusting the focus of the light produced by the flashlight. The flashlight also includes a series of fluid-tight seals to insure that the flashlight is waterproof and a one-way flapper valve allows release of gases produced by the batteries and prevents fluid from entering the flashlight. A battery charger is also provided to recharge a battery pack for the flashlight.

A flashlight mounting arrangement may comprise a flashlight body having a source of light therein, and a mounting saddle for detachably affixing the flashlight body on an object, the mounting saddle detachably engaging the flashlight body. Optionally, the flashlight may have a rotatable lamp head, and the lamp head may also include a reflector having one or more sources of light, e.g., an incandescent lamp and a light emitting diode, therein. Also optionally, a battery charger may be provided to recharge a battery for the flashlight.

Flashlight mounting arrangement

A light comprises a light body for supporting an illumination light source and for receiving a battery, a first light source disposed in the light body for selectively providing illumination; a cover for receiving an optional second light source; a switch for selectively energizing the first light source, the optional second light source, or both; and a circuit structure for receiving electrical potential and providing electrical connections among the first light source, the optional second light source, the switch, and the terminals. The circuit structure may include portions in different planes, and may include a separable connector whereby the optional second light source may be removable.

Mountable light providing illumination and optionally aiming

A flashlight with a rotatable lamp head is provided. The lamp head pivots about two cylindrical coaxial electrical connectors. The lamp head also includes reflector having a major parabolic reflective surface and a minor reflective parabolic surface. The reflector is configured so that the minor reflective surface is nested within the major reflective surface. The flashlight also includes a series of fluid-tight seals to insure that the flashlight is waterproof. In addition, a flapper valve is provided to function as a one-way valve allowing the release of gases produced by the use of the batters, and preventing fluid from entering the flashlight. A battery charger is also provided to recharge a battery pack for the flashlight.

An electrical switch comprises a dielectric substrate and a deformable contact member overlying the dielectric substrate for contacting an electrical conductor on the dielectric substrate when deformed. The contact member is electrically connected to another electrical conductor on the dielectric substrate, and may have plural contact fingers. A mounting may be provided for mounting the switch using a fastener, a tie member or an adhesive member.

Pressure actuated electrical switch

A mounting arrangement for a light or other object includes a clamping arrangement, or a keying arrangement, or both a clamping and a keying arrangement for mounting to different mounting rails having different keying features. The clamping arrangement includes a fixed clamp member and a movable clamp member that is movable towards and away from the fixed clamp member and is biased towards the fixed clamp member, so as to grip a mounting rail therebetween. The keying arrangement employs interchangeable keying members that may be disposed in a recess of the light or other object and that may have different keying features for use with mounting rails having corresponding keying features.
