Also described are methods for determining the efficacy of a TNF&#x3b1; inhibitor for treatment of ankylosing spondylitis in a subject.

Methods for treatment of ankylosing spondylitis using TNF alpha antibodies

A geothermal energy system with reverse thermodynamic flow scheme that employs a pump or a compressor in series with a ground heat rejection or a ground heat absorber. The pumped geothermal energy system evaporates and condenses the working fluid at substantially the same pressure in the ground loop. The working fluid could be carbon dioxide, Freon, water or any other suitable refrigerant. The compressive geothermal system condenses the working from a vapor to a liquid above, below, and substantially equal to critical pressure using carbon dioxide as the working fluid.

An integrated, self-contained microrefrigeration apparatus, in a dimension small enough to fit inside small appliances, such as electronic cases and portable equipment is described. The microrefrigerator employs a working fluid that circulates between evaporator, compressor, condenser and turbine-expander components in a closed loop. Two configurations are claimed: one with the compressor and turbine operating on independent shafts, and the other with the turbine and compressor both operating on the motor shaft.

Means and apparatus for microrefrigeration

A bookend is disclosed for a bookshelf having top and bottom surfaces and a forward edge, which top surface supports a row of books in an upright condition with the bound edges of the books facing forwardly. The bookend includes a shelf engaging section having a first engagement portion for engaging the top surface of the bookshelf adjacent to the row of books, a second engagement portion for engaging the bottom surface of the bookshelf underneath the row of books and a first intermediate portion that extends across the forward edge of the bookshelf for interconnecting the first and second engagement portions. A method and apparatus for localizing a source of faulty color operation of a color television receiver having an image producing element and a chassis providing signals to the image producing element through sockets in a chassis output signal connector removably received by an input signal connector on the image producing element. A plurality of visual voltage magnitude indicators are provided to visually indicate at least relative voltage levels of an applied signal. Each of the visual voltage magnitude indicators preferably comprises a light emitting means such as a neon glow lamp variable in brightness in response to variations in magnitude of applied voltage levels. Individual electrical connections are affected between each of a plurality of the sockets of the chassis output signal connector and respective ones of the plurality of visual voltage magnitude indicators with the chassis output signal connector removed from the image producing element input signal connector. A source of faulty operation of the television receiver can be thereby localized to either the image producing element or the chassis through manipulation of the customer color controls on the television receiver.
