An apparatus includes a strain relief formed in helical shape and formed with a U-shaped channel. The strain relief can be used around a cable of a component or a spool extension of a fiber tray.

An hourglass transducer including a longitudinal driver, a shell, and a pair of endcaps is provided. The driver drives the transducer. The pair of endcaps is attached to ends of the driver and cap the shell enclosing the transducer. The shell includes a first shell end, a second shell end, and a pleated geometry. The first shell end and second shell end are structured with circular cross sections. The pleated geometry is between the first shell end and the second shell end. A perimeter of the pleated geometry is the same as perimeters of the circular cross sections of the first shell end and the second shell end.

Enhanced hour-glass transducer

A regulated current-fed power system employs power branching units connected in series. Each power branching unit includes a plurality of parallel-redundant converter groups connected in series with each other within a current path for the regulated current. Each parallel-redundant converter group includes at least two direct current (DC)/DC converters connected in parallel with each other, each sharing the power load. A protection device connected in series with each DC/DC converter disconnects the respective DC/DC converter from the regulated current when the respective DC/DC converter short circuits, with the remaining DC/DC converter(s) then receiving more of the power load. An active clamp connected in parallel with all of the DC/DC converters within a parallel-redundant converter group temporarily sinks a portion of the regulated current when one of the DC/DC converters fails in a short-circuit condition. The active clamp shunts the regulated current around all DC/DC converters within the parallel-redundant converter group converters fail in a short-circuit condition.

Power system based on current source

Systems and methods of the invention can equalize the pressure between an interior cavity and an environment exterior to the interior cavity, while providing for acoustic isolation between the two environments so that acoustic energy propagating through one environment does not cause acoustic vibrations in the other environment. In one application, these pressure compensation systems are employed to equalize the pressure on either side of a moving coil projector, thereby reducing the deleterious effect that a pressure differential across the moving coil projector can have on the operation of the moving coil projector and reducing the likelihood that propagating acoustic energy can result in phase cancellation that reduces the acoustic performance of the moving coil projector.
