An elastic detergent product which may also be used by children as a toy or plaything while taking a bath, includes a mixture of anionic and amphoteric synthetic organic detergents, gelatin and water. The products are substantially form-retaining and although they wear away during use, substantially retain their initial forms and elasticities for major proportions of their useful lives. They are easily manufactured and during the manufacturing process are moldable to finely figured and detailed shapes. Because of their elasticity they are resistant to breakage during shipping and use and because of their contents of both synthetic anionic and amphoteric organic detergents they exhibit less surface tackiness than other elastic detergent products or bars in which similar proportions of gelatin and water are present. In an improved process for the manufacture of such products having a lesser tendency to shrink upon prolonged exposure to the atmosphere, during the blending of the various product components heating is employed and is continued for a long enough time to evaporate a substantial proportion of water from the mixture, after which the composition may be poured into molds and solidified.

Elastic detergent product containing anionic and amphoteric synthetic

An elastic detergent bar of improved elevated temperature stability, so that it better maintains its shape on storage at temperatures somewhat higher than normal, includes an amphoteric synthetic organic detergent in mixture with an anionic synthetic organic detergent, gelatin, water and insoluble gas in very small bubble form distributed throughout the bar. The bars are substantially form-retaining during storage and although they wear away during use, substantially retain their initial forms and elasticities for major proportions of their useful lives. Compared to similar bars in which the insoluble gas, such as air, is not present, the invented bars are stable at higher storage temperatures, e.g., 5.degree. to 10.degree. C. higher, making them commercially much more acceptable. Additionally, the elastic detergent bars are resistant to breakage during shipment and use, exhibit less surface tackiness than similar control bars, are very easily molded to finely figured and detailed shapes and of course, because of their lower density, float. Also within the invention is a process for making the described products.

A marbleized appearance is imparted to the column of paste or like material extruded from a flexible walled container by injecting material of a different color into a column of a predominantly base color passing through a container outlet lined with irregular projections.

Dispensing

A mixing container comprising first and second cylindrical containers telescopically arranged. One form of the invention includes an upwardly extending channel in the side walls of the upper container together with an upper opening therein for permitting mixing of ingredients. Another form of the invention conceives of a rupturable membrane closing an opening in the bottom wall of the upper container. The upper container is provided with a ventable top closure.

Two chambered mixing container

Apparatus for dispensing a fluent composition comprising a casing having a top opening with a stationary or rotatable arcuately surfaced web backing member projecting through the opening and a carrier web bearing the composition passes out of the casing through the opening at one side of the member to closely overlie the member and present a firmly backed convex applicator area outside said casing and then passes back into said casing along the other side of said member. In the preferred embodiments the used areas of the web are rewound within the casing, which may be disposable.

Applicator

A product dispenser for dispensing two products simultaneously comprising a first cylinder having a first product therein and having an end wall. The end wall has a tongue and groove joint with the first cylinder. The first cylinder is provided with a piston plate therein and the first cylinder in turn forms the piston of a second product therein. The parts are so arranged that movement of the first cylinder relative to the second cylinder will actuate the piston plate as well as discharge both products.
