A method of preparing a microcapsule composition include the steps of: (a) providing a microcapsule formed of an encapsulating polymer having a primary or secondary amine group. (b) providing a deposition agent having a reactive group, and (c) forming a covalent bond between the primary or secondary amine group and the reactive group to graft the deposition agent to the encapsulating polymer. Also disclosed are consumer products containing these microcapsules.

Surface modified microcapsules

Disclosed is a microcapsule containing: (i) a microcapsule core having an active material, and (ii) a microcapsule wall formed of a first polymer and second polymer. The first polymer is a sol-gel polymer. The second polymer is gum arabic, purity gum ultra, gelatin, chitosan, xanthan gum, plant gum, carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl guar gum, or a combination thereof. The weight ratio between the first and second polymer is 1:10 to 10:1. Also disclosed are processes for preparing the microcapsule and uses of the microcapsules in consumer products.

Silica microcapsules and methods of preparing same

A microcapsule composition useful in delivering an active material contains a first microcapsule and a second microcapsule. The first microcapsule has a zeta potential of 10 mV or greater, the second microcapsule has a zeta potential of 5 mV or less, and the weight ratio of the first microcapsule and the second microcapsule is between 1:10 and 10:1. Also disclosed are consumer products containing such a microcapsule composition.

Polyurea capsule compositions

A reloadable microcapsule contains a microcapsule core and a microcapsule wall encapsulating the microcapsule core. The microcapsule core contains a hydrophobic core solvent and a hydrophilic core solvent, and the microcapsule wall, formed of an encapsulating polymer, is permeable to the hydrophilic core solvent. Also disclosed are methods of preparing the reloadable microcapsule and consumer products having the microcapsules.

Reloadable microcapsules

A microcapsule composition is provided, which contains a polyurea or polyurethane microcapsule, an alkylnaphthalenesulfonate formaldehyde condensate, and polyvinylpyrrolidone. Also disclosed is a process of preparing the microcapsule composition and a consumer product having such a microcapsule composition.

Microcapsule compositions with high performance

A capsule composition containing a capsule and a stabilizing agent. The capsule has an oil core containing an active material and a capsule wall encapsulating the oil core. The active material is a fragrance, a flavor, a malodor counteractant, or a combination thereof. The wall is formed of polyurea or polyurethane. The capsule composition has 20 ppm or greater of the stabilizing agent, which is a multi-functional amine, an amino acid, a polymer mixture, or a combination thereof. Also disclosed is a consumer product containing this capsule composition.

Stabilized capsule compositions

Compositions and methods for the in situ formation of cross-linked organosiloxane films are disclosed. The disclosed films are long-lasting, flexible, transfer-resistant, water-resistant and oil-resistant. The film-forming compositions generally comprise alkoxy-terminated organosiloxane polymers and a catalyst and are useful for formulating cosmetics and personal care products.

Cosmetic compositions having in-situ silicone condensation cross-linking

Provided are methods of removing bisulfite material from a composition that contains a bisulfite material and an enzyme. The method includes contacting the composition with a compound containing at least one aldehyde functional group to form an aldehyde-bisulfite complex, whereby the aldehyde-bisulfite complex may be separated from the composition.

Cosmetic compositions having in-situ hydrosilylation cross-linking

Compositions and methods for the formation of physically cross-linked thermoplastic elastomeric films are disclosed. The disclosed films are long-lasting, flexible, transfer resistant, and water-proof. The film-forming compositions comprise a thermoplastic elastomer, a tackifier resin, and a volatile solvent useful for formulating cosmetics, personal care products, and pharmaceutical compositions.

Use of thermoplastic elastomers in a composition and compositions thereof

A non-sticky, clear water-in-oil emulsion comprising: (a) 65-90 weight % of an internal phase comprising 5-35 weight % of an antiperspirant salt (anhydrous basis) having a metal:chloride ratio in the range of 0.9-1.4:1; 5-15 weight % of tripropylene glycol; and 35-70 weight % water; and (b) 10-35 weight % of an external phase comprising 1-40 weight % of a volatile silicone which is not an elastomer; 0.1-5 weight % of a silicone copolyol surfactant; and 0-20 weight % of a nonvolatile silicone which is not an elastomer; wherein the composition is free of (1) C1-5 saturated alcohols, (2) added propylene glycol, (3) elastomer gelling agents, (4) soap gelling agents (5) borate gelling agents, and (6) coupling agents, and wherein all amounts are in % by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
