A conveyor apparatus for transporting elongated, flat electronic component assemblies or the like through a surface treatment chamber in a predetermined orientation. A continuous belt is provided with two parallel spaced rows of retention pins which are automatically separated in the loading zone to facilitate positioning of the assemblies on the conveyor. A wedge-shaped shoe member forces the respective pins transversely outwardly and is provided with an aperture permitting the insertion of the assemblies therethrough. Secure retention of the assemblies in the treatment chamber is assured by an inverted U-shaped channel which urges the retention pins into engagement with the component assemblies. The pins may be bent outwardly to enhance the compressive forces exerted by the pin pairs comprising the respective rows. A center-ribbed exit belt pulley deforms the belt along its longitudinal center axis thereby spreading the pin rows to aid removal of the assemblies following surface treatment. A U-shaped pin member defines a pair of retention pins. Each pin member is positioned in a given pin row thereby maintaining maximum belt flexibility enabling belt deformation over the ribbed exit pulley.

Component conveyor apparatus

A portable apparatus for treatment of surfaces, preferably horizontal, comprising a centrifugal wheel for projecting abrasive particles onto the surface at an angle within the range of 30.degree. to 80.degree. with the surface, a feed hopper for supplying abrasive particles to the wheel, a rebound corridor of decreasing cross-section extending angularly upwardly and into which the abrasive particles rebound upon striking the surface and means for returning abrasive particles rebounding through the corridor to the hopper.

Portable apparatus for treating surfaces

A portable device for treatment of surfaces, preferably horizontal, comprising a centrifugal wheel for projecting abrasive particles onto the surface at an angle with the surface, a feed hopper for supplying abrasive particles to the wheel, a rebound corridor extending angularly upwardly and into which the abrasive particles rebound upon striking the surface, and means for inducing air flow into the blast area and through the rebound corridor for enhancing removal and recovery of abrasive particles.

Portable device for treating surfaces

A portable apparatus for treatment of surfaces, preferably horizontal, comprising a centrifugal wheel for projecting abrasive particles onto the surface of an angle within the range of 30.degree. to 80.degree. with the surface, a feed hopper for supplying abrasive particles to the wheel, a rebound corridor extending angularly upwardly through an angle of at least 180.degree. with the surface and through which the abrasive particles rebound upon striking the surface whereby gravity means take over for returning the rebounding abrasive particles to the hopper.

Surface treating apparatus

Grate bars for the support of floor plates over which combustible material is advanced through a combustion furnace, in which the grate bars are in the form of elongate members arranged in side-by-side relation with alternate bars being movable endwise with means for vertical movement relative to adjacent stationary bars to define walking beams for advancement of the material through the furnace, in which the grate bars are formed of the three elongated rod-like members in triangular arrangement and interconnected by longitudinally spaced bulkheads which support the floor plates.

Furnace grating

A furnace for the conversion of trash and garbage into useful energy, in which use is made of a movable grating system over which the trash and garbage is advanced for passage through the furnace, the means for driving the grating being located outside of the furnace with a heat sink in between and which includes means for disconnecting the grating from the drive means without the need to gain access into the interior of the furnace.

Mechanical actuation of furnace grate beams

A portable apparatus for treatment of surfaces, preferably horizontal, comprising a centrifugal wheel for projecting abrasive particles onto the surface at an angle within the range of 30.degree. to 80.degree. with the surface, a hopper for supplying abrasive particles to the wheel, a rebound corridor extending angularly upwardly preferably to a level above the hopper and into which the abrasive particles rebound upon striking the surface and means for returning abrasive particles rebounding through the corridor to the hopper, means for intercepting abrasive particles which do not possess sufficient kinetic energy to rebound through the corridor to prevent return of said abrasive particles to the surface, and means for displacement of intercepted abrasive particles to the hopper.

Portable surface treating apparatus

This invention relates to a portable blast cleaning unit employing one or more airless centrifugal blasting wheels for throwing particulate against a surface to be treated. By use of separate modules, the cleaning unit can be adapted for side cleaning of vertically disposed surfaces or upblast cleaning of horizontal surfaces. The cleaning unit includes means for effecting a sealing relation with the surface to be treated and for recovering and air washing the blast media to remove the debris generated by the blasting process. The air wash separating means is contained directly in the blasting head so that a completely portable and self-contained unit capable of recycling the particulate is obtained.

Convertible blast cleaning unit

This invention relates to a portable upblast cleaning head which makes use of an airless centrifugal blasting wheel for throwing particulate in an upwardly direction against the underside of a horizontally disposed surface. The head includes means for effecting a sealing relation with the surface to be treated and for recovery and air wash separation of the blasting particulate from deposits and residue which are removed by the blasting process. The separating means is contained directly in the blasting head so that a completely portable and self-contained unit capable of recycling the particulate is obtained.
