A flexible, insulative battery cover and method of construction thereof are provided. The batter cover includes a flexible, tubular wall circumferentially bounding a cavity extending between a bottom end and a top end. The flexible, tubular wall has a composite outermost layer, a first thermoplastic innermost layer, and a nonwoven intermediate layer. The nonwoven intermediate layer is sandwiched between the composite outermost layer and the first thermoplastic innermost layer. The composite outermost layer includes a reflective outermost thermoplastic layer, a second thermoplastic innermost layer and a metal layer sandwiched between the reflective outermost thermoplastic layer and the second thermoplastic innermost layer.

Battery cover and method of construction thereof

An insulative nonwoven battery cover and method of construction thereof is provided. The cover includes a plurality of nonwoven sections bonded together to form a desired structural configuration. The nonwoven sections are mats of heat-settable textile fibers and green materials including natural fibers, recycled materials and/or waste stream materials. The mats are formed having a bonded seam of the melted heat-settable textile fibers such that the cover is provided with a circumferentially continuous wall.

Flexible green nonwoven battery cover and method of construction thereof

A flexible one piece, insulative battery cover; battery cover assembly therewith; method of construction thereof, and method of enclosing a battery therewith are provided. The battery cover includes a flexible, tubular textile wall having a cavity extending between a bottom end and an open top end of the wall. The cover further includes a flexible textile lid having a free end and an opposite end attached to the wall via a hinge, with the lid being pivotal via the hinge between an open position, exposing the open top end of the wall, and a closed position, substantially closing off the top end. Further yet, the cover includes a fastener fixed to the lid adjacent the free end, with the fastener being configured to for releasable attachment to an elongate fastener member of the vehicle battery assembly.

Flexible battery cover with integral lid, method of construction thereof, and method of enclosing a battery therewith

A flexible, resilient, non-woven acoustic sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve has an elongate nonwoven layer with opposite sides bonded to one along a lengthwise extending bonded seam, thereby forming a circumferentially enclosed inner cavity sized for receipt of an elongate member therethrough. The sleeve further includes a generally smooth inner scrim layer bonded to an inner surface of the nonwoven layer, wherein the smooth inner scrim layer forms a circumferentially continuous, smooth inner surface bounding the cavity, with the material of the inner scrim layer forming at least a portion of the bonded seam.

Nonwoven acoustic sleeve and method of construction thereof

A textile sleeve for routing and protecting elongate members and method of construction thereof are provided. The sleeve has a wall of interlaced monofilament and/or multifilament yarns. Opposite edges of the wall extend along a central axis of the sleeve. The opposite edges are biased into a self-wrapping, overlapping relation with one another to bound a tubular cavity in an in-use first configuration. A plurality of elongate hinges formed with the interlaced yarns extend along the length of the sleeve in substantially parallel relation with the central axis, with the hinges separating relatively rigid, arcuate regions of the wall from one another. The hinges allow the arcuate regions to be moved from the expanded in-use tubular first configuration to a collapsed, second configuration nested with one another to allow significantly increased numbers of the sleeves to be shipped and stowed in a significantly reduced volume of space.
