A sidewall assembly includes a window and a sidewall portion having an inner-facing side and at least partially surrounding the window. The sidewall assembly further includes a transparent display panel coupled to the sidewall portion covering the inner-facing side of the sidewall portion and the window. The sidewall assembly further includes a display controller operatively coupled with the transparent display panel. The sidewall assembly further includes a window shade movable between an open position to allow light to pass between the window and the transparent display panel and a closed position to obstruct light from passing between the window and the transparent display panel. The sidewall assembly further includes a blackout feature disposed between the window and the transparent display panel and a blackout control device configured to control the blackout feature to selectively obstruct light from passing between the window and the transparent display panel.

Window for an aircraft and display for aircraft window

A sidewall assembly for an aircraft and an aircraft are provided. In one example, the sidewall assembly includes a window. A sidewall portion has an inner-facing side and at least partially surrounds the window. The sidewall portion and the window have a curved contour. A transparent display panel is coupled to the sidewall portion and covers the inner-facing side of the sidewall portion including the window. The transparent display panel includes a display screen configured to display information to a passenger. The transparent display panel including the display screen have a curved contour that substantially matches the curved contour of the sidewall portion and the window. A display controller is in communication with the transparent display panel to communicate a video/audio signal providing the information to the display screen.

Interior panels for interiors of vehicles, vehicles, and methods for making interior panels for interiors of vehicles are provided. In one example, the interior panel includes an outer covering having a first surface. A second surface is disposed opposite the first surface. The second surface has a pattern formed therein that is hidden from the first surface. A light source is operative to generate light and is disposed adjacent to the second surface generally aligned with the pattern. When the light source generates light, an illuminated pattern corresponding to the pattern is visible on the first surface. A capacitive sensor is configured to generate a capacitance change signal in response to change in capacitance of the capacitive sensor. A controller is in communication with the capacitive sensor to receive the capacitance change signal and is configured to generate a command signal in response to the capacitance change signal.

Interior panel including capacitive change detection for an interior of a vehicle and a method for making the same

Interior panels for an interior of a vehicle, vehicles, and methods for making interior panels for an interior of a vehicle are provided. In one example, the interior panel includes an outer covering having a first surface exposed to the interior and a second surface disposed opposite the first surface. The second surface has a pattern formed therein that is covered by the first surface. A board assembly is disposed proximate the second surface and has a third surface facing towards the second surface. The board assembly includes a light source that is generally aligned with the pattern. An adhesive layer is disposed between the second surface and the third surface and couples the second surface and the third surface together. When the light source generates light, the light passes through the adhesive layer and the pattern to produce an illuminated pattern on the first surface.

Interior panel for an interior of a vehicle and a method for making the same

Mirror displays, mirror display and compartment assemblies, and methods for making mirror displays are provided. In one example, the mirror display includes a transparent mirror having a front surface facing in a forward direction and a back surface opposite the front surface. When a user is present in front of the front surface, the transparent mirror is configured to reflect a first image of the user from the transparent mirror back towards the user. A display panel is disposed adjacent to the back surface of the transparent mirror and is configured to display a second image that is transmitted through the transparent mirror to be viewable from the front surface.

A first light source is operative to generate a first light and is disposed adjacent to the second surface generally aligned with the first pattern. When the first light source generates the first light, a first illuminated pattern corresponding to the first pattern formed in the second surface is visible on the first surface.

Vehicles and sound systems for vehicles are provided. In one example, the sound system includes a plurality of sound producing devices. An amplifier is in communication with the sound producing devices. The amplifier is configured to receive input channels of audio content, to map the input channels with output channels to the sound producing devices in one of stereo mode and surround sound mode, and to remap the input channels with the output channels to the sound producing devices in the other of the stereo mode and the surround sound mode.

Directional sound system for a vehicle

A window for an aircraft fuselage includes a transparent display for transmitting information to the passenger. The transparent display has a controllable data transmission circuit for varying the light transmission through pixels in the thin film transparent display. Natural light through the window acts as a backlight for the thin film transparent display.
