The present disclosure provides an uninterruptible constant current regulator circuit capable of receiving power from a primary power source and a secondary power source, and switches between the two according to the condition of the provided power. Specifically, the uninterruptible constant current regulator provides a first voltage from the primary source to a load until the first voltage falls below a threshold value, at which point the uninterruptible constant current regulator automatically switches to provide a second voltage from the secondary source to the load.

A support coupling which provides a frangible point for a lighting fixture, and which prevents water from accumulating at the frangible point and from penetrating an inner chamber of the lighting fixture where electronic components are disposed includes an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall has a higher grade (i.e., is taller) than the outer wall. A space between the inner wall and the outer wall receives an extension column. Water running down the sides of the extension column is collected in the space and pours out of the coupling over the shorter outer wall before the water reaches the top of the inner wall.

A wirelessly powered airfield lighting device includes a base can and a wireless power transmitter disposed in the base can. The wireless power transmitter can wirelessly transmit power. The lighting device further includes an isolation transformer disposed inside the base can. The isolation transformer is electrically coupled to and between the wireless power transmitter and a power source. The lighting device also includes a light fixture that includes a base disposed on and sealing the top end of the base can and that includes an electronics compartment. The light fixture further includes a wireless power receiver disposed in the electronics compartment and that wirelessly receives power from the wireless power transmitter. The light fixture also includes a light source that receives power from the wireless power receiver.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a bone fixation assembly that can provide polyaxial fixation. The polyaxial fixation may be provided by fins that protrude from an opening in a bone plate or fins that protrude from a fastener head.

Systems and methods for using polyaxial plates

A light fixture is provided with a heating element. The heating element can be a resistive heating element, such as a Nichrome wire, and resides in grooves of a cover (e.g., a glass globe) of the light fixture. Thus, the heating element acts to directly heat the cover of the light fixture to prevent, decrease, or otherwise correct frosting, freezing, and other elemental effects on the cover when it is exposed to the environment. The heating element is capable of raising the temperature of the cover at least 15&#xb0; C. from an initial temperature of &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. in 30 minutes. A heat sensing element may provide feedback regarding the temperature of the cover for controlling power supplied to the heating element.

Elevated runway/taxiway fixture and globe/glass heater

A light-emitting diode (LED) airfield guidance sign is disclosed herein. The sign can include a waveguide having a first face and a first fastening mechanism disposed on a first outer perimeter of the waveguide adjacent to the first face. The sign can also include a front panel coupled to the first outer perimeter adjacent to the first face of the waveguide. The sign can further include at least one first LED array disposed adjacent to an edge of a plurality of edges of the waveguide, where the edge of the waveguide is substantially orthogonal to the first face of the waveguide. The sign can also include a pair of side frame supports that secures two opposing edges of the plurality of edges of the waveguide and the front panel. The sign can further include a power source that provides power to the at least one first LED array.

An airfield lighting system can comprise a control system, a constant current regulator, and a plurality of light fixtures. The control system can command the constant current regulator to output a current level transition sequence. One or more light fixtures of the plurality of light fixtures can detect the current level transition sequence and execute a command at the light fixture, such as actuating a heating element or adjusting the intensity of light emitted by a light source.

Systems and methods for heater control by current level step detection

A bone plate system for fixation of bone includes a bone plate and a first fastener. The bone plate includes a bone contacting surface, an upper surface, and a first opening extending between the bone contacting surface and the upper surface. The first opening includes a lower portion, a non-threaded upper portion, and a threaded portion. The threaded portion includes threads and converges towards the lower portion. The lower portion includes a smallest diameter of the first opening. The first fastener includes a head at least partially comprising a spherical portion and a first material. When the first fastener is inserted into the first opening, the threads of the first opening form threads in the first material on the head of the first fastener to secure the first fastener in place at one of a plurality of possible angles within the first opening.

Bone plate and bone plate assemblies including polyaxial fasteners

A system for fixation of bone, including a bone plate with an opening comprising threads made of a first material and a fastener with a head at least partially comprising a polymeric material that is softer than the first material. In some embodiments, when the fastener is inserted into the first opening, the threads of the first opening form threads in the polymeric material on the head of the fastener and secure the fastener in place at one of a plurality of possible angles within the first opening. The first opening additionally accepts a fastener with a substantially spherical head for compression of a fracture, or a fastener with a threaded head that engages with the threads of the threaded opening. In some embodiments the first opening includes a substantially frustoconical-shaped top portion. In other embodiments there may be a second opening that is either non-threaded or comprises a plurality of protruding fins.
