A computer-implemented system includes a plurality of metrological interface devices. Each metrological interface device is in communication with a metrological sensing device configured to detect metrological data from a physical asset. The computer-implemented system also includes a portable computing device. The portable computing device is configured to a) receive a metrological data set, the metrological data set substantially representing data associated with the physical asset at a point in time, b) process the metrological data set and an asset data model into a processed metrological data set, c) upon determining, based on the processed metrological data set, a metrological variance, recalibrating the asset data model and returning to step (a), and d) upon determining no metrological variance, reporting the metrological data set and the asset data model to at least one report recipient.

A method implemented using one or more computer processors for estimating the density of a material in an annular space includes receiving detector data representative of scattered photons resulting from interaction of a material in an annular space with radiation from a radiation source and detected by a plurality of radiation detectors. The technique further includes performing a set of Monte Carlo simulations. The method further includes performing a principal component analysis on the set of Monte Carlo simulations to generate a principal component analysis model of the detector data. The method also includes estimating the density of the material at one or more locations within the annular space based upon the principal component analysis model and the detector data.

Methods and systems for enhanced automated visual inspection of a physical asset

In some approaches, super-resolution of static and moving objects can be performed. Results of moving object super-resolution may be improved by means of performing image co-registration. The quality of images of moving objects in an automated form may be improved. A sequence of images may be processed wherein objects can be detected and tracked in succeeding frames. A small region around a tracked object may be extracted in each frame. These regions may be co-registered to each other using frequency domain techniques. A set of co-registered images may be used to perform super-resolution of the tracked object. Also described are image processing systems and articles of manufacture having a machine readable storage medium and executable program instructions.

The present application provides for feeler gauges. The feeler gauges include a plurality of elongate measuring leaves rotatably coupled on a common axis of rotation with an elongate housing. The leaves may be manually, selectively rotatable between a 'home' position wherein the leaves are substantially aligned with the housing and an 'extended' position wherein the leaves are spaced from the housing. The leaves may be relatively flexible and substantially flat such that they define a substantially constant thickness. One or more extended leaves may be used to measure the thickness of a clearance or gap. The gauges may be configured to detect, determine or measure the thickness of the leaves that are in the &#x201c;home&#x201d; position and/or the &#x201c;extended&#x201d; position, and thereby determine the total thickness of a clearance or gap measured by the extended leaves.

Digital feeler gauge and method of using same

A system for detecting faint perturbations of interest in an image is described. The system includes a memory comprising the image, and a processor. The processor is configured to estimate a local mean and variance for each of a plurality of pixels in the image, analyze a local region of the image, an image mean, and an image variance using a filter bank, thereby generating a plurality of response vectors, determine a likelihood of a local perturbation in the image using a probability distribution based on the plurality of response vectors, and make a classification decision of the local perturbation. The probability distribution is calculated, for each of the plurality of response vectors, based on a response of each of the plurality of response vectors to the estimated local mean and variance for each of the plurality of pixels. Methods and machine-readable media are also described.
