Systems and methods are described herein for updating search results based on a user's comment or a conversation among users using a media guidance application. A set of search results may be presented to a user or users. Comments or a conversation about the search results may be analyzed by the media guidance application. Selected comments by a user determined to have a greater weight may be used to update the search results.

A control system automates operations of a chainsaw mill. The chainsaw mill has at least one powerhead, and at least one travel motor that mechanically engages with a drive belt to drive the at least one powerhead along a guide track. A tension sensor measures tension on the drive belt, and a powerhead sensor produces a revolutions per minute (RPM) measurement of the at least one powerhead. A powerhead controller is responsive to the RPM measurement for controlling the powerhead's throttle to keep the RPM near a predetermined RPM setpoint. A travel motor controller is responsive to the tension measurement for controlling the at least one powerhead's transit speed along the guide track to maintain drive-belt tension near a predetermined tension setpoint.

Systems and methods are described herein for efficiently 'catching-up' a user that is interested in a media asset when that user has missed a portion of the media asset while consuming the media asset together with other people. The system may detect that multiple people are consuming a media asset and may determine, based on a respective profile of each person, whether that person is interested in the media asset. When the system detects that the user is disregarding the media asset, the missed portion of the media asset is stored if the user is interested in the media asset, and is not stored if the user is not interested in the media asset.

Methods and systems are presented for transferring an interactive feature from a first device to a second device. Two users may be consuming a media asset. Upon receipt of a command to active an interactive feature, a determination is made whether a user who did not activate the interactive feature is interested in the media asset. Upon that determination, a timer is activated that tracks an amount of time for which the interactive feature is active and a determination is made whether a threshold time period has been met. Once the threshold time period is met, a device associated with the user that activated the interactive feature is identified and the users are prompted to transfer the interactive feature to the device.

Method and system for transferring an interactive feature to another device

Systems and methods are described herein for replaying content dialogue in an alternate language in response to a user command. While the content is playing on a media device, a first language in which the content dialogue is spoken is identified. Upon receiving a voice command to repeat a portion of the dialogue, the language in which the command was spoken is identified. The portion of the content dialogue to repeat is identified and translated from the first language to the second language. The translated portion of the content dialogue is then output. In this way, the user can simply ask in their native language for the dialogue to be repeated and the repeated portion of the dialogue is presented in the user's native language.

Methods and systems for control of content in an alternate language or accent

Systems and methods are provided for enabling different modes of operation based on a detected audio trigger. The systems and methods may generate an audio signature for a detected first sound and compare the audio signature with a plurality of registered audio signatures. In response to determining that the audio signature matches a first registered audio signature, the systems and methods may enable a first operational mode for a device that enables a first plurality of commands In response to determining that the audio signature matches a second registered audio signature, the systems and methods may enable a second operational mode for a device that enables a second plurality of commands, where the second plurality of commands are different from the first plurality of commands.
