In some implementations, a device may receive, via a universal serial bus (USB) interface, configuration information and a supply of power from a network device. The device may receive, via an antenna that is external to the device, a first signal indicating timing information. The device may generate, based on the first signal, a second signal and a third signal, wherein the second signal comprises a one pulse per second signal and the third signal comprises a ten-megahertz signal. The device may provide, to the network device, the second signal and the third signal. The device may receive, via an input port, a clock signal to provide an extended holdover functionality to the network device.

Systems and methods for providing a global navigation satellite system capability to a time sensitive network device

A disclosed apparatus for accomplishing such a task may include (1) a circuit board incorporated into a module designed for insertion into slots of computing devices, (2) at least one conductive contact disposed on the circuit board, (3) a counter circuit disposed on the circuit board and communicatively coupled to the conductive contact, wherein the counter circuit comprises (A) a signal-change detector that detects signal changes as the module is inserted into one of the slots of the computing devices and (B) a counter device that maintains a dynamic count indicative of a number of times that the module has been inserted into one of the slots of the computing devices based at least in part on the signal changes, (4) a battery electrically coupled to the counter circuit, wherein the battery powers the counter device prior to the insertion. Apparatus, system, and method for achieving accurate insertion counts on removable modules

A system may receive, by a switching component of the system, network traffic to be provided to an I/O component of the network device. The system may route, by the switching component, the network traffic to the I/O component based on whether the I/O component is connected to the switching component via the first connections and/or via second connections. The first connections may be connections via a chassis of the system. The second connections may be connections via a connector component that is removable from the switching component. The network traffic may be routed via the first connections and the second connections when the I/O component is connected via the first connections and the second connections. The network traffic may be routed via the first connections and not via the second connections when the I/O component is connected via the first connections and not via the second connections.

Supplemental connection fabric for chassis-based network device

The disclosed apparatus may include (1) a faceplate that facilitates at least one connection between at least one communication cable and a line card that forwards traffic in connection with a network, (2) at least one heatsink that (A) is integrated into the faceplate and (B) absorbs heat dissipated by at least one electronic component included in the line card, and (3) at least one mount that (A) is integrated into the faceplate and (B) enables the electronic component to attach to the heatsink.
