A visor assembly for a vehicle includes a visor, a beam, an arm, and a carrier. The beam defines a first path. The arm has a first end and a second end spaced from the first end. The arm moveably supports the visor with the visor moveable between the first end and the second end of the arm. The carrier supports the arm at the first end. The carrier also connects the beam and the arm with the second end of the arm laterally spaced from the first path defined by the beam. The carrier is moveable along the first path. The visor assembly enables the visor to be manually continuously adjustable in a substantially horizontal, vertical, and angular manner such that the visor can cover a predetermined area of a windshield or a corresponding side window of a vehicle to shade the eyes of an occupant of the vehicle.

A diving snorkel assembly includes a snorkel tube and a casing. The snorkel tube includes a first portion and a second portion telescopically disposed relative to each other. The snorkel tube further includes an inner surface that defines an air passageway. The air passageway extends through the first portion and the second portion between a first end and a second end of the snorkel tube. A casing surrounds at least part of the first portion and the second portion. An interior of the casing is in fluid isolation from the air passageway. Due to the fluid isolation between the air passageway and the interior of the casing, mechanical mechanisms are sufficient to secure the casing in place such that the diving snorkel assembly may be made without the use of glue.

A vehicle seat assembly having a support member extending laterally across the seat assembly and coupled to slide rails on each side forming a unitary frame structure movable upon fixed rails mounted to the motor vehicle. The unitary frame structure forms a platform upon which the seat cushion and seat back are mounted. By extending the unitary frame member outward beyond the sides of the seat cushion, the unitary frame structure can be mounted to the raised sill and tunnel of the vehicle body, above the floor. Alternatively, the unitary frame structure can be mounted vertically into the floor gaining the same benefits. This increases the space beneath the seat assembly which can be used by a rear seat occupant for his or her feet or for storage of other items.

A fresh air snorkel assembly (10) comprises a breathing tube (12) having a mouthpiece (18) at one end of the tube and an air intake opening (16) at the other end of the tube. The breathing tube (12) further includes an exhaust valve (22) disposed between the mouthpiece (18) and the air intake opening (16), and an intake valve (20,24) disposed adjacent to the air intake opening. The intake valve (20,24) includes floating intake valve means (24) for moving totally toward and away from the valve seat (20) for opening and closing the air intake opening (16) in response to the breathing of the diver. The air intake end of the snorkel is curved so that the air intake opening (16) faces the waterline.

A diving snorkel assembly (10) including a water trap (28, 99) disposed within the snorkel tube (12) for trapping water flowing through the tube and disposing of the water through an exhaust valve (26) located along the length of the tube. The trap (28, 99) removes most of the water passing through the tube (12) and makes breathing easier for the diver using the snorkel (10).

An overhead console (2) attaches to the interior roof (4) of a motor vehicle and provides various features including a retractable compartment (18) for sunglasses or the like that with a damper mechanism (118) for protecting the sunglasses (61) when the compartment (18) is opened. Another compartment (22) is used to hold a remote control unit (60) for a garage door opener. The control unit compartment (18) permits the remote unit (60) to be used by pressing a pushbutton (24) on the compartment lid (23) which activates a pushbutton (62) on the unit (60). A reading/map lamp assembly (28) is houseable in the console (2) and includes a plastic bellows (30) for retracting and aiming a lamp head (32) over a 360.degree. range. The lamp beam width is optionally controllable by a secondary bellows (74) mounted on the lamp head (38). A dual-sided access compartment permits the vehicle driver or a passenger to gain access to a common compartment. The dual-sided compartment (38) includes a pair of pivot/latch rod assemblies (76, 77) that work in a complementary manner such either assembly can act as a release latch permitting the compartment (38) to hinge open about the remaining assembly. The console (2) optionally includes a panel (14) for mounting instruments (17) such as a clock, a compass, and the like.

A diving snorkel assembly (10) including a snorkel tube (12) having an air inlet end (14) and a mouthpiece (16). The snorkel tube (12) defines a fluid passageway (18) extending between the end (14) of the tube (12) and the mouthpiece (16). An exhaust valve (24) is disposed between the mouthpiece (16) and the end (14) of the tube (12) for allowing one-way exhaust of fluid from the fluid passageway (18). An exhaust baffle (26) extends across the fluid passageway (18) adjacent to the exhaust valve (24) for establishing an exhaust fluid flow from the mouthpiece (16) through the fluid passageway (18) toward the exhaust valve (24) in response to air pressure from the mouthpiece (16).

Fresh-air snorkel

A snorkel valve assembly (34) including a sleeve (28) having a rim (30) and defining an opening (32). The assembly (34) includes a diaphragm member (36) having a peripheral sealing surface (38) for selectively sealing off the opening (32) by sealing engagement of the sealing surface (38) with the rim (30). The diaphragm member (36) has a pushed closed position wherein fluid flow within the sleeve (28) draws the sealing surface (38) of the diaphragm member (36) into sealing engagement with the rim (30) and a neutral position when there is no fluid flow within the sleeve (28) space wherein at least a portion of the sealing surface (38) is spaced from the seating rim (30).

Snorkel valve assembly

A respiratory mask including a mouthpiece in a breathing conduit or passage for conveying breathing gas to and from a breathing chamber. The breathing chamber has collapsible or diaphragm-like walls for expanding and contracting in response to the pressure of the ambient medium surrounding the mask, such as water, as the mask is utilized by a diver. A fresh air gas supply conduit is connected to the respiratory mask for supplying breathing gas to the breathing chamber upon the breathing demand of the wearer of the mask. The breathing gas in the breathing chamber is utilized twice as an exhaust valve connecting the breathing chamber with the ambient medium is maintained closed during two consecutive breathing cycles by an electromagnet which is energized through a replaceable battery in the mask and controlled through an electronic circuit responsive to a bellows which reacts to each breathing cycle of the wearer. In addition, should the electromagnet fail the exhaust valve is biased to the closed position by a spring and operates as a normal exhaust valve during each breathing cycle.
