A graphical user interface allows a user to create an image having a pop-up menu which is exportable to a target computer without the creating user being required to know how to program in JAVASCRIPT&#x2122;. Using menu selection in the application in which the image is running, the creating user may insert a pop-up menu instruction associated with an object and positioned at a desired location within the image. The inserted pop-up menu instruction then causes the creating computer to invoke its own routines that construct an exportable JAVASCRIPT&#x2122; file that allows for a pop-up menu associated with the desired object to be displayed on the screen of a target system.
